Job Summary:

Principal Accountabilities:

Provide accurate Japanese–English interpretation and translation to support all forms of communication among The Walt Disney Company, Oriental Land Company, and other project-related parties, whether in meeting rooms, on construction sites, or at vendor locations.

Knowledge and Skills:

Required:

  • Native-level language proficiency in English and Japanese (TOEIC 950, JLPT N1)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Japanese
  • Professional experience in consecutive interpretation
  • Ability to interpret for live/on-site and online meetings
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with other interpreters.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in response to changing business needs and work environments
  • Willingness to report to Maihama five days a week.
  • Willingness to work on construction sites as required.
  • Flexibility to work unique shifts and travel as required
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to learn and quickly adopt new terminology, including technical jargon
  • Ability to ask for clarification when needed

Preferred:

  • Experience with whispered or equipment-assisted simultaneous interpretation.
  • Prior experience or knowledge in project management, construction, engineering or architecture design (preferred but not required)

This position is a contract role, with the contract term determined by the project schedule. The anticipated hire date is April 1, 2026.
