Disney’s Direct to Consumer (DTC) team oversees the Hulu and Disney+ streaming businesses within Disney Entertainment, helping to bring The Walt Disney Company’s best-in-class storytelling to fans and families everywhere.
The Disney+ Global Subscriber Engagement and Content Programming team is responsible for leading content planning, scheduling, on-service merchandising, slate management, and programming insights that contribute to a cohesive strategic content approach for the service.
What You Will Do
The Content Planning Manager (Local Originals) is responsible for overseeing planning efforts across local Originals and promotional assets from our partners across Asia, Europe, and Latin America. This position partners cross-functionally with teams, including International Programming, Distribution Operations, Marketing, and Communications, to ensure Local Originals successfully premiere on service. This position reports into the Sr. Manager, Content Planning.
Responsibilities
Manage Disney+ Local Originals and promotional assets from our partners across Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Partner with regional programming teams, operations, and US-based Global and International teams to execute, track, and report on these initiatives through the lifecycle of planning to live on service.
Maintain daily communication and positive relationships with cross-functional teams, including Regional Programming teams, Operations, Marketing, Comms, and Merchandising.
Assist with conveying content strategy and processes into data-informed summaries and high-level presentations for executives and internal stakeholders.
Represent Disney+ Content Planning & Scheduling in meetings with a professional and enthusiastic attitude.
Handle any challenges with a solution-oriented mindset, and act as project manager for ad hoc requests and deliverables as they arise.
Required Qualifications & Skills
3+ years of experience in scheduling, slate planning, or content strategy preferably in digital media and entertainment. SVOD or Linear TV experience a plus.
Skilled in identifying opportunities for improving title planning and recommending impactful business solutions.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Diplomatic mindset with a proven track record of effective teamwork in matrixed organizations.
Meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple demands and competing priorities, with effective time management for oneself and others.
High emotional intelligence and a collaborative spirit.
Quick to adapt to new technologies and evolving organizations, thriving in fast-paced environments.
Passionate about The Walt Disney Company’s segments, brands, and franchises, with expertise in enhancing audience engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SVOD or linear TV is preferred.
Familiarity with live operations is a plus.
Proficient in Airtable and other content planning tools.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree
The hiring range for this position in CA is $85,800.00 to $115,000.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
