About the Role & Program

We are looking for someone to be a part of an innovative team and creative culture! The D23 Content and Editorial Intern works closely with the D23 team and several divisions of The Walt Disney Company to build and share stories, news, events, and more with members of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club via D23.com, D23 social media channels, and the quarterly Disney twenty-three publication. Ready to get started?

The selected candidate will report to the Manager, D23 Content Strategy. We are looking for someone who will work full time between the approximate dates of January 2025 - June 2025.

What You Will Do

  • Support the D23 Content Manager by crafting preliminary copy for social postings on Facebook, X, Instagram, and TikTok
  • Serve as a reporter, social media poster, support staff, or a combination of the three at various D23 and company events
  • Pitch and write original stories, quizzes, and other content for D23 media outlets and compile interview questions based on original research and reporting
  • Interview talent and creative team members for upcoming television projects, feature films, video games, Disney Parks attractions, Disney travel opportunities, books, consumer products, collectibles, and more!
  • Proofread copy for D23.com posts, D23 emails, Disney twenty-three and others and maintain an up-to-date bibliography of all features published in Disney twenty-three
  • Support the team lead on all cross-promotional opportunities with internal Disney partners, while building and growing relationships across D23 and other teams

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Sophisticated knowledge of social platforms and standard processes including but not limited to TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and X
  • Genuine curiosity about the Walt Disney Company history including films, animation, television, and theme parks as well as realms that may be new to you
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word and an ability to quickly learn additional communication and organizational software
  • Validated skills in editorial research, reporting, and writing to engage and entertain readers
  • Well-developed writing, grammatical and proofreading skills, as well as an eye for detail and organization
  • Experience interviewing talent, creatives, and other subjects in both in-person and remote formats, while maintaining a heightened sense of responsibility and confidentiality
  • Ability to work quickly to meet deadlines and a willingness to take direction and editorial feedback to help grow your skills accordingly

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on website and print publication content, including WordPress or other CMS
  • Knowledge of AP style, and experience writing in the voice/tone of an organization
  • Photography skills

Education

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • A junior, senior or recent graduate with a major or previous coursework in writing, communications, journalism or related field

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization

Additional Information

  • Candidate should be available to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
  • Able to provide own housing and transportation to and from work in the Glendale, CA area
