ABC7 Los Angeles is seeking a freelance Director to join our team to work on news and live local productions.
Responsibilities:
- Director is responsible for all technical aspects of a live production using Ross Overdrive and Smart Shell camera control systems.
- Works directly with producers, reporters, and technical staff including playback editing, transmission, Master control and engineering.
- Responsible for clean execution of newscast while maintaining a positive, proactive attitude.
- Direct/T.D. any assigned Live newscast, webcast or post production, also stage manage as needed.
- Maintain production studio and control room.
Basic Qualifications:
- Working experience with Ross Overdrive.
- Strong sense of newscast structure.
- Hands on experience operating in a computer assisted environment with the ability to work under pressure.
- Operation knowledge of DALET Newsroom systems a must.
- Interacts with various departments and requires exceptional organizational skills.
- Must be willing to work any shift.
- Minimum of 5 years’ Major Market experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Dalet, Xpression, and Ross switchers a plus.
- Knowledge of Ross Overdrive and Ross Overdrive Smart Shell camera system
- Possess strong organizational skills, be self-motivated and have a good visual sense.
- Must be able to work well under pressure, thrive on deadlines and work a flexible schedule.
- Have the ability to clearly give direction to crew while under pressure.
Required Education: High School Diploma
Preferred Education: College Degree
The pay rate for this role in Glendale, CA is $774.00 per day.
