And knowing that we have helped make a difference is incredibly fulfilling and inspiring for all of us.

Walt Disney’s Imagineering Tech Studio is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Server Engineer to support our management and compliance needs. The ideal candidate will oversee the implementation and monitoring of server infrastructure, ensuring the organization’s information assets are protected and compliant with relevant regulations and standards.

This role will report to the Senior Manager of Platform Engineering.

This is a Full-Time role.

What You Will Do

Infrastructure & Platform Engineering

·Build, deploy, and maintain physical security patching and monitoring on virtual Windows/Linux infrastructure supporting rendering, content creation, and production workflows.

·Manage high-availability server, storage, and network platforms, including storage tiering and lifecycle management.

·Design secure infrastructure architectures: network segmentation, secure access controls, and hybrid production/enterprise environments.

·Automate deployment, configuration, and validation using Python and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or CloudFormation).

·Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins) to improve deployment consistency and system lifecycle management.

Security Operations

·Monitor infrastructure, network, and system activity via observability/monitoring platforms (Datadog, Grafana, Splunk, Prometheus, or similar) to catch performance issues, operational risk, and security threats early.

·Run vulnerability scans and risk assessments; coordinate remediation with engineering and security stakeholders.

·Support incident response: troubleshooting, root cause analysis, documentation, and corrective action.

·Operate and tune security tooling — firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection — as part of day-to-day platform ownership.

·Support compliance work aligned to Zero Trust, NIST CSF, and NIST RMF: help prepare artifacts, track controls, and close gaps identified in assessments (this is a supporting role, not a full GRC/authorizing-official function).

Collaboration & Reporting

·Partner with cross-functional engineering, operations, and security teams on secure, scalable infrastructure solutions.

·Prepare operational and security status reports: infrastructure health, compliance metrics, incident trends, remediation status.

·Manage the Security & Compliance Initiatives as a program

·Mentor and provide technical direction to other engineers on complex, hands-on infrastructure work.

·Stay current on infrastructure, observability, and security tooling trends relevant to production/content-creation environments.

Required Qualifications & Skills

·10+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Server Engineering, or DevOps, ideally including production, content-creation, or rendering environments.

·Have strong Project/Delivery Management skills to manage cross functional security and compliance Initiatives

·Support compliance work aligned to Zero Trust, NIST CSF, and NIST RMF: help prepare artifacts, track controls, and close gaps identified in assessments (this is a supporting role, not a full GRC/authorizing-official function).

·Design and implement secure infrastructure architectures, including network segmentation, secure access controls, and hybrid production and enterprise environments.

·Strong Python skills for infrastructure automation, deployment validation, and building security guardrails.

·Hands-on experience with high-availability and DR architecture design for Windows and Linux systems in production.

·Practical experience implementing Zero Trust principles, network segmentation, and secure access controls in hybrid (on-prem + cloud) environments.

·Experience with observability/monitoring platforms (Datadog, Grafana, Splunk, Prometheus, or comparable) and using them for both operational and security signal.

·Strong analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills; comfortable owning initiatives with minimal oversight.

Preferred Qualifications

·Experience supporting rendering, VFX, robotics, or other creative-production infrastructure specifically.

·Professional certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or CISM (CISSP/CISM are a plus, not expected at the individual-contributor hands-on level this role targets).
