DTVA creates both long-form and short-form content spanning traditional 2D, rig-based 2D, CG (preschool), CG (premium), and stop-motion. The Post Production Supervisor has experience and expert knowledge in all areas of animation post production, including scheduling, sound design, finishing and distribution for Domestic Titles. This position facilitates and manages the post production schedule and keeps production on track including staying up to date on retake percentages and other aspects which could cause a delay in deliveries or affects budgets. They need to be familiar with technology used in the creation and distribution of digital TV, including the legacy of SD and HD resolutions, aspect ratios and delivery codecs. Also important is a familiarity with all areas of Post Sound Design and Mixing.
The Post Supervisor should have excellent communication skills, be organized and able to work with a team under strict deadlines. Ability to work closely with Show Runners/Creators/Producers, Network Executives, in addition to internal and external post house facilities to ensure necessary approvals occur prior to final delivery.
What You Will Do
Scheduling. Create post-production schedule and ensure that the scheduling of the post process are followed and alert show Producers and post executives of any problems that may cause the production to miss delivery/air dates. Working closely with Production, Post, Casting and Music. Will create and maintain Post Schedules. Make note of deliverable requirements at series start and re-confirm with each new season ensuring they are being followed throughout the production.
Run Post Meetings. Lead Post Kick-Off Meetings with all needed parties. Potentially to include casting, music, executives, showrunners, production, mastering and 3rd Party Studios. The post supervisor will ensure that all questions are answered and needed materials are provided. Act as main studio contact for shows and answer questions as needed regarding deliveries and recalls. The Post Supervisor will create the agenda and run their weekly post check-ins with each of their crews working closely with the producer that all necessary items are being discussed.
Be a resource for Productions on Hybrid Shows. Navigate Conversation with Post Contact at our Animation Studios for our Hybrid and Third Party Shows where necessary to ensure that deliveries are happening.
Crew Setup & Support. Set up each show with their respective software needs (i.e. PIX, Scenechronize, Media Monorail) working with the Mastering department as needed. Routine check-ins with Editors & TDs to ensure their systems are running smoothly, workload is manageable and help elevate any timely concerns.
Retakes Management. Attend Retake Sessions when able, monitor retake percentages (Working with Producer), and help with the management of what work gets facilitated to TVA's in house Technical Directors.
Sound Supervision. Work closely with audio vendors to schedule SFX Spots, Previews and Mixes as well as ensure delivery specs are met between editorial, sound stages, and mastering in preparation for final delivery. Attend Spots, Previews, and Mixes for Internal shows, and hybrid shows which are mixing locally. Before the Mix ensuring all elements from Casting, Music and Editorial are current and delivered to the stage. During the mix, listening closely that M&E tracks are clear for international dubbing and working with Production to ensure all S&P notes are addressed. After the mix, ensure all technical notes have been address before the Mix is Print Mastered.
Overseeing Final Delivery. Once Print Masters are complete ensuring delivery to TDs and Editors is complete and on time. Once assembled by TDs, running the Final Playback of the complete episode with final picture and sound. Noting and following through with TD/Editor of any notes given at the Playback. Once the final approved show with all notes addressed has been output, do a QC viewing. If no impairments found, launch the show to assigned mastering vendors for broadcast QC and send out delivery notices.
QC - Monitor impairment notes from Vendor QC, work with responsible parties to address errors then relaunch to QC vendor. Repeat until QC has been updated Passed.
Paperwork. Working with production and editorial, confirm that proper deliverable paperwork is included with each new delivery, including, but not limited to, Format Sheet, Licensed Materials List, Add/Delete Form, and Final Credits.
Security – Working with Technology team to ensure all security guidelines are adhered to with respect to company materials, distribution, or PIX access. Acquire approval for external/clean sharing of materials.
PIX - Set up editorial on PIX following internal approved workflow, and make sure content is updated on the platform as needed in the required folders working with post coordinator and production.
Ancillary Content – When necessary, Post Supervisor will assist with Awards, Publicity, Marketing and Localization requests
Wrap Report & Archive. - As part of seasons end, facilitate gathering the information to create the wrap report. Manage archiving of animation assets working with TVA Digital Production Department.

Required Qualifications & Skills
The ideal candidate possesses previous animation post-production experience and has the ability to adapt to various workflows and pipelines.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience and an expertise in all areas of animation post-production.
Knowledge of technologies involved in Stereo, 5.1, and ATMOS Sound Print Mastering
Experience with QC reports.
Must be able to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
General experience with Outlook required.
Knowledge of Scenechronize is a must. Knowledge of PIX, Airtable, Excel, F-track, One Drive and other tracking software a plus.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent years of experience
Job Location
This is a fully onsite role based in Glendale, CA.
The hiring range for this position in Glendale, California is $59,600.00 to $79,800.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
