Job Summary:

About the Role & Team**

The Supply Chain Visibility (SCV) team was established to meet increasing regulatory and stakeholder demands for comprehensive supply chain due diligence. A newly formed team, SCV is responsible for managing Disney’s expanding responsibilities to understand and conduct due diligence on the upstream supply chain. This includes collaborating with Corporate and Business partners to operationalize new regulatory requirements, analyzing internal and external supply chain data to determine regulatory impact and evaluate risk, developing tools and methodologies to conduct due diligence in support of regulatory requirements, and partnering with internal Sourcing teams to gather and evaluate information from Disney’s vendors.

  

Reporting to the Senior Manager of SCV, the Program Development Specialist will serve as a founding member of the team, playing a critical role in shaping and scaling a cross-functional supply chain compliance program and technology platform. This individual will be responsible for driving the adoption and optimization of the technology platform, integrating compliance into new business units, and managing special projects to support the development and growth of the program.

We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about responsible sourcing, eager to solve problems without clear answers, and excels at collaborating across diverse teams. The ideal candidate has experience collaborating with technology and business partners to develop innovative solutions, a talent for project and change management, and experience scaling upstream due diligence and/or traceability initiatives in or for large multinational companies. 

What You Will Do**

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Platform Development & Data Analysis

  • Serve as the primary business lead for a cross-functional supply chain visibility technology platform, collaborating with technology teams and business stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize enhancements, and troubleshoot issues related to the platform
  • Partner with technology teams on stakeholder communications related platform updates, enhancements, and new features to stakeholders, including updates to senior leaders on platform health
  • Document and track platform use cases and coordinate diverse platform customers to ensure development follows a strategic approach in alignment with business priorities
  • Collaborate with the SCV Operations team, technology partners, and other key stakeholders to analyze data and generate reports to inform program development and operational decision-making

Business Integration

  • ​Partner with diverse business units to review sourcing, vendor setup, product development, and production processes to develop compliance solutions tailored to their unique needs
  • Partner with regional management teams to conduct onboarding sessions, workshops, and follow-up meetings to ensure successful integration of the platform and compliance program
  • Monitor onboarding progress, identify potential roadblocks, and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve challenges efficiently

Special Projects

  • Design and lead special projects that advance the maturity, reach, and effectiveness of the SCV program, for example: designing and operationalizing regulatory scoping & supply chain risk analysis processes, evaluating new visibility and compliance methodologies & tools, developing training & onboarding materials, operationalizing new regulations, etc.
  • Develop project workplans, milestones, and resourcing proposals to ensure on-time implementation ​
  • Monitor project progress & budget, identify and communicate potential risks or delays to leadership and key stakeholders and recommend corrective actions to keep projects on track
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulatory updates, and best practices to identify opportunities to continuously improve supply chain visibility programs

Required Qualifications & Skills**

  • 5+ years of experience managing projects and initiatives in the responsible sourcing, social and environmental sustainability, supply chain compliance, and/or human rights space
  • Demonstrated experience managing technology platforms or digital tools
  • Proven ability to facilitate onboarding, training, and integration of new compliance initiatives and technologies into existing business processes
  • Proficient in project management methodologies and technologies (e.g., Gantt charts, RACI frameworks, Smartsheet, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse project stakeholders, including leadership and internal business partners
  • Adept at synthesizing a range of perspectives, disjointed information, and competing needs to drive informed decision-making and advance new compliance initiatives
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical and compliance information in a clear and impactful way to diverse audiences
  • Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets, generate actionable insights, and create clear, informative reports for decision-making
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and adapt to evolving business needs
  • Detailed-oriented, logical, systematic, methodical, highly organized, with strong follow-through 
  • Proactive with a problem-solving mentality 
  • Willingness to work across different time zones and within a global team 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in scaling compliance initiatives across large multinational corporations
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations (UFLPA, EUDR, Dodd-Frank, EUFLR, EUCSDD, etc.), international standards, industry norms, and multistakeholder initiatives related to supply chain due diligence
  • Familiarity with various traceability methodologies and technologies including, but not limited to, supply chain mapping, chain of custody document verification, and fiber forensic testing
  • Proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP), supply chain management software, or compliance management platforms
  • Change management experience, especially related to the implementation of new technology solutions
  • Proficiency in additional languages (e.g., Chinese, Spanish, French) is a plus

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in international studies, political science, public policy, economics, business administration, sustainability, supply chain management, information systems, or related field; advanced degree preferred    

Additional Information

This position is an on-site role requiring a minimum of four days per week in the office, with Glendale, CA as the preferred location; other U.S. locations with Disney offices may be considered on a case-by-case basis for exceptionally qualified candidates.


The hiring range for this position in California is $115,500.00 to $154,800.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
