The Resort Wide Systems Engineer Principal is responsible for engineering activities related to resort-wide telecommunications, alarm, and low voltage systems. This team develops and implements complex system-level designs, establishes technical standards and project strategies, supports integration across key project disciplines, and partners with operations, maintenance, IT, and project teams to deliver innovative, reliable, and scalable resort-wide systems.
You will report to the Engineering Design Studio Executive.
This is a Project Hire position without any guarantee of permanent placement.
What You Will Do:
Perform Resort Wide Systems Engineering activities related to resort-wide telecommunications, alarm, and low voltage systems
Establish technical and project process strategies and standards for portfolio-level projects
Lead an engineering team in the production of engineering designs and documentation for multiple resorts through all phases of engineering design, production, installation, testing, and documentation
Develop risk analysis and inform management as required
Update the Systems Matrix for current requirements and ensure its use across all projects
Develop telecommunications infrastructure strategy in partnership with IT teams.
Develop trade studies of implementation options for telecommunications and low voltage systems within area of responsibility
Manage and develop project budgets up to $15,000,000
Influence outside vendor product development and industry standards, both domestic and international.
Communicate with all levels of project, maintenance, operations, and IT staff to ensure technical and creative requirements are achieved in the most cost-effective and timely fashion
Required Qualifications & Skills:
15+ years of experience in resort-wide systems engineering, telecommunications, low voltage systems, or a related engineering field desired
Ability to develop cutting-edge systems and complex resort-wide telecommunications and low voltage system architectures
Ability to develop system-level designs
Working knowledge of key project disciplines beyond Resort Wide Systems, including A/V, Electrical, Show Systems, Lighting, and Facilities
Ability to provide technical trade-offs between disciplines
Ability to lead engineering teams across all phases of design, production, installation, testing, and documentation
Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to all levels of project and operational stakeholders
Must be able to travel to all sites, as required, for periods of one to two weeks or more. Relocations for up to a year or more may be required
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
15+ years of specialized experience focused on telecommunications, alarm, and low voltage systems
State Professional Engineering License desired
BICSI RCDD Certification desired
Experience mentoring Intern, Associate, Staff, or Senior level Telecommunications or Electrical Engineers
Experience influencing product development and industry standards development with external vendors.
Basic accounting knowledge
Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field required
Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field preferred

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $139,200 - $186,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
