This role is in the enterprise Financial Systems organization and will have proficiency across three areas – program management, finance and technology to bridge across diverse partner groups and champion strong engagement. The ideal candidate will have strong eye for business, a self-starter who is capable of taking full ownership of projects within a fluid, sophisticated environment.

What You Will Do

As the Senior Manager, Financial Systems you will support the Financial Systems organization in delivering large projects such as SAP S/4HANA. This role will be part of the team responsible for driving the responsibilities of a program management office (PMO), with the goal of setting and implementing standards and practices for finance systems projects.

This role will be part of Disney’s journey to finance transformation, and accountable for delivering a strong and effective PMO function, partnering with collaborators within and outside of Disney (e.g., finance, controllership, technology, third party providers), focusing on handling to the critical path, mitigating risks, removing blockers to delivery success.   • Design and deliver high-quality, effective program management processes, including the partnering to create road maps, strategy and defining project scope, schedule and budget
  • Innovate and implement scalable project facilitation processes and tools, ensuring consistency and standardization of project governance processes
  • Establish and maintain PMO metrics and other reporting
  • Drive continuous improvement and educates others on project management standard processes
  • Track and report on project issues, manage issue escalation process and collaborate with partners to find effective solutions
  • Engage with project leads to share resources, tools, templates, provide training to project teams
  • Manage pipeline progress (knows the pipeline and what potential roadblocks exist) and mentors others when projects are off track
  • Prepare key program deliverables and deliver regular progress updates to senior leadership
  • Oversee program financials, including forecasting and reporting, resource planning
  • Actively lead third-party suppliers to ensure they deliver to their commitments, and to the needs of the business
  • Build strong relationships with and manages large and diverse groups of partners at multiple levels
  • Act a liaison who helps different teams “connect the dots”
  • Anticipate issues and risks and proactively engages the right partners to mitigate them
  • Facilitate decision-making and alignment of priorities in meeting business needs

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 7+ years of demonstrated high-level professional knowledge and skills in project management, accounting or finance systems and processes. Experience working for large company and within a matrix organization
  • Proven analytical skills, flexible, creative and results oriented
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Experience with large scale project implementations with impact to end-to-end business functions and systems
  • Ability to liaison between business partners to coordinate project kick-offs, stakeholder meetings, and drive projects to completion
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong ability to build and maintain positive relationships with many different business partners
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new concepts and proactively seek clarification when needed
  • Knowledge/experience in Financial Systems and area for business and technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborate, establish relationships and build credibility with internal clients and to navigate organizational structures
  • Experience in managing project budgets and financials
  • Comfortable working with all levels across the organization and able to question the status quo
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills , adaptable to different audiences and clients
  • Ability to articulate the “big picture”, and develop a logical and persuasive approach and outline for a presentation ”deck”
  • Experience using project management tools (e.g., MS Project, SmartSheets)
  • Highly skilled in using the Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 9+ years of relevant experience
  • PMP or other professional project management certification
  • CPA or CMA license, or equivalent
  • Experience in using SAP
  • Experience implementing financial processes and systems
  • Experience with compliance requirements and processes
  • Advanced Excel skills

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Technology, or a related field

Preferred Education

Graduate Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Technology, or a related field (e.g. MBA, MIS)


The hiring range for this position in Glendale, Ca., is $148,200 to $181,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
