The Senior Prototype Technician provides essential support for the staging, mock-up, and delivery of WDI projects.
You will report into the Senoir Manager, Prototype Engineering.
This is a Full-Time role.
What You Will Do
Set up, operate, and maintain technical systems.
Provide basic theatrical support (audio, lighting, video, and staging).
Troubleshoot technical systems and equipment.
Manage temporary power distribution.
Set up and maintain mock-up areas.
Fabricate special effects and integrate high-tech and low-tech systems.
Enforce safety practices.
Perform technical cleanup.
Maintain, repair, or coordinate repairs for tools, equipment, and facilities.
Support advanced theatrical and show control systems.
Evaluate inventory and procure supplies.
Support setups, presentations, and field installations.
Arrange rental equipment and labor.
Participate in equipment strike and ensure proper storage.
Maintain safe working conditions.
Serve as point of contact for project mock-ups.
Support presentations to executive leadership.
Perform rigging and truss work.
Build effective relationships across WDI.
Demonstrate initiative and strong self-leadership.
Coordinate with external vendors.
Work varies based on assignment and may involve managing multiple mock-ups or full attraction/land mock-up plans.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of 5 years related experience.
Technical system setup, operation, and maintenance.
Theatrical technical support.
Experience with lifts and rigging equipment.
Temporary power distribution.
Special effects fabrication.
Ability to read drawings and layouts.
Experience with A/V, show control, networking, and projection systems.
Lighting system knowledge.
Ability to work at height.
Certifications in rigging, overhead safety, equipment operation, and fall protection (preferred).
Knowledge of industry standards.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
Bachelors Degree preferred

The base salary for this position in California is $95,500.00-$128,000.00 based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
