The Supervising Producer position requires an expert in storyboards and CG animation pipelines, supporting the execution of the Executive Producer's creative vision for the series. This role acts as a bridge between the creative and production teams to maintain the overall vision of the show while balancing the practical execution of the animation.
Key responsibilities include overseeing supervisors and leads, collaborating closely with the Animation Studio Partner, and ensuring creative goals are met across all production stages. The role also involves guiding storytelling, visual style, animatic timing, building pipeline and advising on complexity within the scope of the show. The ideal candidate will help manage the gaps between the creative vision, production capabilities and budget requirements and will be familiar with multiple Animation pipelines including CG and hybrid 2D/3D workflows.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with EP, Producer, and Executives to implement the creative vision through the production pipeline.
Review and provide feedback on storyboards and animatics to maintain the show’s artistic quality.
Provide input on story, scripts, storyboards, and design, ensuring alignment with the creative direction is within production scope.
Identify and address complexity challenges.
Identify areas for improvement and implement necessary adjustments to maintain consistent quality.
Attend records and collaborate with EP to support voice direction when needed.
Ensure show leadership and animation service providers are aligned in budget and complexity parameters and expectations.
Partner directly with the animation service provider throughout the production to strategize solutions around complexity and scope. Travel to animation studios as needed to monitor production and address creative or scheduling concerns.
Collaborate with EP, Producer, and team to solve and manage executive notes, while navigating standards, legal, and creative challenges.
Support post-production efforts, including feedback on edits, retakes, timing, and audio.
Work with CG and Animation Supervisors to communicate creative goals, balancing artistry with budget and schedule constraints.
Assist in creating materials for marketing, promos, and other ancillary projects as needed.
Proactively identify and address creative, staffing, or pipeline issues to minimize schedule or budget impact.
Provide feedback and guidance to artists and support staff development.
Assist Producer and LP in performance reviews, promotions, and disciplinary action, as necessary.
Potentially oversee multiple series, ensuring consistency and alignment with creative goals.

Skills and Requirements
7+ years of experience in animation production as a Supervising Producer and/or Supervising Director
Familiarity with animation software and production pipelines, such as Toon Boom Storyboard Pro, Maya, Nuke, Blender, Ftrack and animation shot tracking software
Experience partnering with 3rd party animation studios, domestically and internationally.
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to manage complex schedules within budget constraints
Creative vision and the ability to provide constructive feedback
The hiring range for this position in California is $3,016.50 to $3,921.45 per week based on a 60-hour work week, which follows the pay scale agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
