The approximate dates of this internship are June 2026 - January 2027, located in Orlando, FL.

What You Will Do

The CAD Design department is accountable for the creation and modification of all computer drafting, graphics, 3D models, and views generated (ground plans, detail drawings, schematic documentation, etc.) that help to tell the stories of our live show offerings, including parades, stage shows and special events on and off the Disney property, and on-board the Disney Cruise Line. We are seeking an individual with an innovative mindset and a passion for Disney-quality creativity. We are seeking someone who will be motivated to ensure that Disney standards are consistently reflected in all design & technical materials.

  • Demonstrating knowledge of basic design, including 2D digital drawings as well as 3D modeling

  • Assisting with in-the-field information gathering via laser scanning, digital photographs, and physical measurements

  • Contributing to the advancement of the Pre-visualization part of the design workflow

  • Facilitating a design from an art concept through a bid package, as part of a collective design process

  • Participating in appropriate Disney Live Entertainment seminars and meetings

  • Coordinating conference room logistics for project/creative reviews and shows

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Basic Experience & knowledge in creating and designing custom AutoCAD blocks & drawings (layers, fonts, leader styles, and annotative scaling)

  • Computer proficiency within a Windows environment, such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Familiarity with BIM Concepts and processes

  • Experience with Cloud Shared models and Autodesk Revit

  • Familiarity in 3D modeling (Revit, Sketchup, AutoCAD, Rhino) 

  • Experience in reading and generating ground plans, sections, and elevations

  • Knowledge of the Entertainment industry, and having a creative background

  • Gaining trust through motivation and communication, and managing conflicting priorities

  • Experience with Unreal Engine and developing VR Experiences

Education

  • Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior, or graduate student

  • Earning a degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Data Management, Fashion Merchandising, Costume Technology, Apparel Buying, Apparel Development, Sourcing, or related major preferred

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all the requirements below:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class at the time of application posting, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Possess unrestricted work authorization

  • Possess a valid US driver’s license and have the ability to operate a company vehicle

  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney Internship or Disney College Program

  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship

Additional Details

  • Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines

  • Fully available Sunday through Saturday, for the duration of the internship, 40 hours per week

  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
