The approximate date of this internship is June 2026 to January 2027, located in Orlando, FL.
What You Will Do
As part of the Character Programs & Development Digital Design team, we collaborate with Digital Sculptors, Materials Teams, and production partners/vendors to help inform production capabilities, limitations, and consider the potential cost impact of design, production, and technology choices. The Industrial Design Intern will help build production-ready digital assets, technical drawings, and specs of varied products to bring characters to life across all Disney Parks, Resorts & Cruise Ships, worldwide.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Ability to proficiently build/communicate design concepts through 3D design software while showcasing innovative and creative design solutions, with a strong emphasis on complex CAD surface modeling and design
- Ability to process ideas through physical prototyping/mockup creation with strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and product development methodologies
- Effective understanding of the detailed relationship between aesthetics/function and ergonomics, human factors, and user experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in 3D CAD Software. (e.g. Solidworks, Autodesk Fusion360, Rhino)
- Recognizable passion for 3D Printing, model making, Toy Design, 3D scanning, Costume Design, prop making, etc.
- Experience with digital sculpting tools (e.g. Zbrush, Blender, Maya)
- Collaborative problem solver with the ability to communicate/work with cross-functional teams

Education
- Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student level with a degree in: Industrial Design, Product Design, Toy Design, Themed Entertainment Design, Animatronics, or Mechanical Engineering
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all the requirements below:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class at the time of application posting, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
- Possess a valid US driver’s license and have the ability to operate a company vehicle
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
- Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship

The pay rate for this role in Orlando, FL is $18.75 per hour.
