If selected to be part of the team that writes live entertainment shows, events, and projects, you will report to the Manager of Creative Development Resources.

This is a full-time 6-month internship (dates are January 11th, 2025, through June 7th, 2025).

What You Will Do

Collaborate with and support the Creative Show Director and Writer Team by:

  • Researching and compiling information to be used in the creative process and participating in brainstorming sessions
  • Writing drafts, creative treatments, pitches, scripts, and other show-related materials while under the mentorship of the Show Writer or Show Director
  • Crafting notes, editing, and proofreading show-related materials

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience writing family-friendly stories, dialogue, plays, or other entertainment content
  • Passionate about the Disney brand
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bi-lingual Spanish/English
  • Understanding of the production process for developing live entertainment offerings or special events experience

Required Materials

Portfolio with samples of creative writing (submitted via URL link on resume; no other submission formats accepted)

Education

Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at the time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.

  • Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior, recent graduate, or graduate student
  • Major or previous coursework in Theatre, Creative Writing, or related field

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Program
  • Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines 
  • Available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week)
  • Able to provide own housing in the Orlando, FL area and have reliable transportation to/from work (We provide limited housing opportunities for Florida-based Professional Interns through American Campus Communities; for more information, click here)
