Responsibilities

The qualified candidate must be able to provide immediate guest liability claims services for Walt Disney World Resort guests. Must exhibit outstanding customer service with an understanding of the importance of brand management. Day-to-Day responsibilities include but are not limited to conducting onsite investigations, evaluate liability case exposure and resolve claims directly with guests and attorneys. Candidate will work closely with our Legal Department and outside counsel in the handling of litigated cases and handle excess reportable cases. They will attend mediations, depositions and meetings involving litigated cases.  Candidate should feel comfortable presenting to an audience and will be asked to provide training to leaders across the Resort and participate in initiatives to meet department’s goals and objectives. Candidates must be willing to have periodic on-call responsibilities, which is some cases will necessitate responding to incidents after hours.

Basic Qualifications

  • Florida 520 or 620 All-Lines Adjusters’ License with the State of Florida in good standing
  • Proven experience and strong understanding of property and casualty insurance and claims handling.
  • Demonstrate strong technical skills, which including scene investigation, evaluation and negotiation of liability claims
  • Ability to work under deadline pressures and handle multiple priorities
  • Proven ability to deliver effective presentations to various levels of leaders, including executives
  • Proven ability to deliver concise and informative written summaries in memo and presentation format, with appropriate business writing and usage of professional grammar
  • Computer proficiency within a Windows environment, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrate familiarity with automated claims administration and management systems
  • Demonstrate excellent time management skills
  • Demonstrate understanding of medical and legal terminology
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated strong relationship-building, negotiating and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems and make decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information
  • Ability to work in multiple computer systems and in a paperless claims environment
  • Proven experience in handling complex liability and litigated claims

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of  10 year experience handling liability claims ( Including Bodily Injury, Property Damage, Auto BI, PIP, Auto Property Damage, Discrimination, ADA Compliance and subrogation, etc. ) or equivalent claim-related experience.
  • Proven bilingual helpful
  • Previous experience handling Florida claims

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
