Job Summary:

Join a dynamic team at Reedy Creek Energy Services supporting the vital utility infrastructure at Walt Disney World Resort. As a Civil Engineer, you will deliver expert engineering services for wet utilities and solid waste systems, including potable and reclaimed water, solid waste management, and wastewater operations. You’ll lead municipal-scale utility projects, collaborate with contractors and design consultants, and provide environmental engineering expertise across diverse assignments.

Typical projects developed and supported by this role include municipal utility-scale work including pipelines, lift stations, storage & pump stations, and treatment facility modifications. The Civil Engineer will be a direct report to the Manager of Projects, Civil/Mechanical.

You Will

  • Assist project managers in defining project scope, objectives, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather technical data, utility requirements, and field inputs.
  • Provide engineering and technical direction to engineering consultants to support the preparation of civil studies, reports, plans, specifications, and construction drawings.
  • Provide engineering guidance to contractors relating to grading, drainage, structures, utility corridors, pipelines, site development, and other related civil works.
  • Review design packages from consultants to ensure technical accuracy, constructability, and compliance with utility standards.
  • Assist with construction oversight by reviewing submittals, RFIs, change orders, and technical clarifications.
  • Update and maintain engineering documentation and as-built records
  • Review contract documents and calculations for lift stations, treatment systems, and pipelines.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, verify field conditions, and ensure adherence to design and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams for project integration and system tie-ins.

You Will Have

  • 2+ years of experience in municipal, consulting, or a related field.
  • Ability to perform calculations, simulate hydraulic systems, and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and schematic drawings.
  • Ability to work in various work environments, including outdoor field locations.
  • Ability to work extended hours to support system emergencies and adverse weather events.
  • Understanding of construction methods, materials, and project delivery processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in municipal, consulting, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of standards and codes applicable to civil utility systems.
  • Operational experience or background in standards development or plan review.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) from an ABET-accredited institution is required.
