The Construction Manager leads a multi‑million‑dollar portfolio of major construction projects, serving as the primary liaison for client coordination across scope, schedule, and budget. This role develops and executes construction implementation plans to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and in alignment with business objectives.

You will report to the Senior Manager, Construction Management, Buena Vista Construction Company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Construction Management team and partner with construction operations and assigned superintendents to deliver major construction projects.
  • Develop and execute construction implementation plans, including schedules, budgets, resource plans, and performance controls.
  • Develop, negotiate, and manage subcontractor and vendor agreements.
  • Manage project documentation and information within the construction management system.
  • Lead project team meetings with internal partners, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Present project progress, risks, and performance updates to senior executive leadership.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Support and develop team members to promote effectiveness and future career growth.
  • Champion and support continuous improvement initiatives across construction delivery processes.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in construction management or a related field.
  • Proven experience with construction cost management, scheduling, estimating, and risk assessment.
  • Experience managing large, technically complex commercial construction projects.
  • Working knowledge of union trade agreements and trade capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Direct experience creating, interpreting, negotiating, and managing construction contracts, including dispute resolution.
  • Financial acumen to develop construction budgets, assess risk, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and design documentation.
  • Expertise in change management, including assessing risk, productivity impacts, and causation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience partnering with teams, subcontractors, and vendors.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
