Job Summary:

Disney Decision Science and Integration (DDSI) is the Walt Disney Company’s center of excellence for developing and deploying innovative analytics that support decision making for client organizations across The Walt Disney Company (TWDC), including Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (e.g., ABC, ESPN, FX, Studio Entertainment, Disney Theatrical Group) and Parks, Experiences & Products. To drive business value through decision-shaping analytics, DDSI leverages technology, optimization, simulation, statistics and machine learning models to explore opportunities and deploy new analytical capabilities.

The Decision Science Product team within DDSI is looking for a Consultant that will contribute to work supporting the Disney Media networks.  The role will build, sustain, and enhance analytical products designed to answer questions around how the changing Media landscape impacts viewership of Disney content.  The Consultant will partner with our clients, vendors, and internal TWDC teams such as Decision Science, Data Integration, and various segment-specific analytics and technology groups to understand business and technical requirements and develop integrated solutions.

A successful candidate will be data-driven and business-minded and will be passionate about creating processes and integrating analyses to solve operational questions. In this position, you will transform data into meaningful business insights. The role will include working with analytically minded peers, where you are expected to contribute to and challenge the current knowledgebase.  You should enjoy connecting with your teammates and leadership to brainstorm ways to better support business decisions, building data visualization dashboards, and designing solutions that are both explainable and repeatable.

What You'll Do:

  • Create and support ongoing processes and products focusing on the long-term outlook of content viewership, utilizing analytic models to drive business decisions

  • Own the development and sustainment of these models, including understanding data needs, acceptance criteria, and success metrics to produce updates tied to major company planning deliverables

  • Conduct industry analyses and independently draw conclusions from data and apply subject matter expertise to drive forecast validation and model enhancements

  • Build feature roadmaps and execute against them to incorporate model improvements into ongoing products

  • Perform data preparation, exploration, and visualization of new viewership measurement sources and metrics

  • Produce system requirements, user stories, test cases, and acceptance criteria to guide data frameworks, application design/development, and science solutions around incorporating those new metrics into the established structure of existing applications

  • Collaborate with Media Research teams to identify and build reporting and visualizations to drive insights and decision making

  • Create documentation around processes and findings to provide transparency and ease of incorporating adjustments

  • Create and deliver client facing presentations to inform partners of new viewership measurement methodologies and variances against established benchmarks

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience andxperience and proficiency in Python, SQL (or similar programming languages) and data visualization (Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)

  • Understanding of fundamental data science methodologies at both technical and applied levels (e.g. forecasting, machine learning, optimization, etc.)

  • Proficient in scalable infrastructure setup, software development, and system architecture

  • Ability to effectively communicate and translate the terminology of analytics and business applications

  • Familiarity with basic software development and testing

  • Ability to collaborate across both highly technical and non-technical teams to complete objectives

  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to contribute to client presentations to senior leadership

  • Familiarity with building internal product management roadmaps and tracking towards delivery

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team

  • Knowledge of basic database structure

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to rapidly changing business environment

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience with the media industry, especially television and streaming

  • Experience with internal or external consulting and product management in the media industry

  • Familiarity with Nielsen and other video measurement solutions

  • Familiarity with full stack development and agile practices

  • Strong understanding of advanced analytical methods

  • Proficiency in automating existing processes

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
