About the Role & Team

The Disney Decision Science and Integration (DDSI) team is responsible for supporting clients across The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) including Disney Experiences (Parks, Cruise Line, Consumer Products, etc.), Disney Entertainment (ABC, The Walt Disney Studios, Disney Theatrical, Disney Streaming Services, etc.), ESPN, and Corporate Finance.

The Decision Science Product team in DDSI leverages analytics, technology, optimization, statistical and econometric modeling to explore opportunities, shape business decisions, and drive business value. Our work includes conceptualizing new solutions, solution design and development, partnering with decision scientists, data engineers, and application developers, implementation, integration with business processes, and ongoing business support.

What You Will Do

DDSI seeks data-driven and business-minded team member who is passionate about learning our client’s businesses, building relationships with key partners, and driving value through the tactical and strategic use of data and analytics. Provide support in the development and improvement of analytical solutions by prioritizing, implementing, and testing to address business problems. Connect with clients to brainstorm ways to better support business decisions; being a thought partner in analytical settings; designing and building data visualization dashboards; and developing, managing, and improving analytical solutions.

  • Internal Consultant - Act as a Company-wide consultant, with particular focus on Parks Pricing and Revenue Management, using analytics and science models to tackle business problems and enhance business value.

  • Strategic Partner - Engage with internal domestic and international clients for projects that drive value, improve efficiencies, or guide strategy development.

  • Product Developer - Support assessment of business needs, requirements gathering, solution design, delivery, testing, and user training of analytics applications. You will also manage client requests and prioritize them into a product roadmap.

  • Problem Solver - When presented with new challenges, research and network to find solutions, evaluated within the context of business impact.

  • Storyteller - Through polished presentations, deliver and optimally communicate key insights, findings, and recommendations in a concise, actionable, and efficient manner to stakeholders and leadership teams.

  • Data Analyst - Analyze and visualize large data sets to capture insights, seek out answers to business problems, and uncover new revenue opportunities.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in analytical product management or similar experience

  • Proficiency with one or more of the following languages: SQL, Python, and/or R

  • Experience in data visualization technologies, such as Tableau

  • Experience with documentation of business processes, resolving functional requirements, development of technical specifications

  • Knowledge of business context and standard methodologies that will influence decisions that add sustained value

  • Demonstrated experience performing exploratory and quantitative analysis and contributing to solution design

  • Ability to build trust and influence partnerships across a diverse group of clients and partners

  • Understanding of statistical methods, forecasting, and/or optimization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of park ticket products

  • Understanding of hospitality revenue management and dynamic pricing systems, data flows, statistical methods, forecasting, and/or optimization, various Data Science methods and basic understanding of system design & architecture

  • Knowledge in software development life cycle, developing product roadmaps for implementation and sustainment and/or agile methodology

Education

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience

Preferred Education:

Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Data Mining, Analytics, Computer Science, or other quantitative field, or equivalent experience
