DFAP (Disney Fine Art Photography) Photo Re-touch Artist A retouch artist who works well under pressure in a time-based environment, focusing on color correcting and enhancing photos taken by other photographers with minimal day to day direction.

This is an Hourly Seasonal / Casual Temporary role reporting to the Disney Fine Art Photography Manager.

What You Will Do

OVERALL

  • Understands photography production in a business environment

  • Takes initiative when reviewing Photography jobs to correct potential issues.

  • Excellent communication skills

EQUIPMENT

  • Good knowledge of Adobe Photoshop CC, Adobe Lightroom CC, Adobe Bridge, Adobe Camera Raw

  • Good knowledge of Mac Computers

TECHNICAL

  • Excellent understanding of composition

  • Excellent understanding of exposure

  • Excellent understanding of lighting.

  • Ability to discern slight variations in color.

  • Ability to provide a “neutral” balanced image.

  • Deep understanding of various photography styles and techniques

  • Able to follow a matrix that shows what items should/should not be edited

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom

  • Cull images for each job based on business standards

  • Ensure that colors are correct and consistent throughout job

  • Ensure that overall exposure and contrast of images are within approved guidelines

  • Ensure that images are cropped in a manner to enhance their composition based on approved guidelines

  • Ensure that selected images tell a cohesive story when selecting images

  • Communicate with leadership excellent work as well as any issues that need to be addressed with photographers

  • Remove items from backgrounds of images, e.g., garbage cans, exit signs

  • Review retouching done by photographers to ensure they meet established standards

  • Ability to build strong relationships through interpersonal and partnering skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines or responding to unplanned needs 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years as a photo re-toucher

  • Familiarity with Capture One and other retouching tools

  • Professional Photography experience

Required Education

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience
