You will report to the Senior Manager-Engineering Services

What You Will Do

The Engineering Services Manager – Facilities at Disney is responsible for maintaining the operational excellence of our resorts, parks, and restaurants, ensuring that guests enjoy an optimal experience throughout their visit. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of plumbing, HVAC systems, kitchen equipment, concrete work, welding, painting, carpentry, as well as pumps, motors, and power systems commonly utilized in hospitality environments. The Facilities Maintenance Engineering Services Manager oversees a skilled team of professionals who ensure all systems operate efficiently and reliably. Each day presents new challenges and responsibilities for the Facilities Maintenance Engineering Services Manager.

Be prepared to:

  • Deliver your very best every day and lead by example.

  • Inspire a team of up to 65 union/non-union cast members to give their very best.

  • Support and drive Safety initiatives to ensure the safety and well-being of yourself, cast members, and Guests.

  • Pull together the collective knowledge of the experts around you and "make the right call" once all the facts are in.

  • Coordinate with outside vendors to obtain proposals for work and then manage their output.

  • Meet with partners in areas such as housekeeping, front desk, recreation, food & beverage, and back-of-house to understand their needs and provide them with excellent service.

  • Bend, duck, carry things, and walk up to five miles per shift – this is an active job, and our resorts, parks, and restaurants are essentially your offices.

  • Maintain preparedness and provide onsite support for things like extreme weather, earthquakes or hurricanes.

  • Manage union contracts, balance staffing among the shifts, schedule vacations and monitor payroll.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Here's what you'll need to be successful at this job:

  • 5+ years of experience in facilities or kitchen maintenance.

  • 3+ years of leadership experience.

  • Passion for mentoring teammates and partnering with peers and leaders.

  • Experience corresponding in writing and in person, with people on all levels.

  • Confident, articulate, and professional communication skills across all organizational levels.

  • Have a coordinated and precise approach to troubleshooting.

  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and handling the physical rigors of the job.

  • Well-developed processes for managing time.

  • Willing to work evenings, holidays, weekends and varying shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership experience in a unionized environment.

  • Knowledge of Maximo and HotSOS.

Education

  • BA or BS degree or equivalent experience.

The hiring range for this position in Orlando, FL is $91,000 to $121,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
