Job Summary:


The Gas Trader is a Disney Cast Member of Reedy Creek Energy Services that is responsible for the daily operations of the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (CFTOD) natural gas supply portfolio and as needed serves as an alternate electric trader. You will also evaluate natural gas term transactions for up to 12 months in duration, prepare short-term load forecasts, the annual Natural Gas Budget, and provide support for long-term planning. In addition, handle all internal and external financial Electric and Natural Gas reporting for the Business Affairs team.

This position will require being available for on-call coverage.

Your role will report to the Manager, Energy Planning.

Responsibilities/You Will

  • Oversee the CFTOD's purchases and sales of natural gas and consumption forecasting.

  • Analyze commodity and pipeline decision-making processes for hourly, daily, and term transactions up to six months in duration.

  • Improve energy costs by using business relationships with partners.

  • Develop energy tracking mechanisms, modeling methods, and modeling tools to support the decision-making, transaction recording, and reconciliation processes of the trading desks.

  • Back office functions associated with natural gas activity including trade reconciliation, billing, financial reporting, and processing hedge settlements.

  • Prepare comparative and summary reports for Management Team.

  • Prepare regulatory reports for DOE, FERC, FPSC, NERC, and FRCC as needed.

  • Prepare analysis of special projects as assigned by the leader.

Basic Qualifications/You Will Have

  • Knowledge of natural gas trading tools required for the decision-making process and to document transactions. Tools such as ICE, NYMEX forward curve, and internally legacy developed tools.

  • Demonstrated understanding of FGT’s web-based scheduling platforms.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including EXCEL & PowerPoint.

  • Demonstrated understanding of utility contracts including NAESB, EEI, and FERC Pipeline tariffs.

  • Strong external business relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5-7+ years of natural gas energy trading.

  • 5+ years managing the natural gas trading desk.

  • Demonstrated understanding of natural gas pipeline nominations system.

  • Basic understanding of electric energy trading and scheduling.

  • Knowledge of FERC Natural Gas Rate Case Filings and Interventions.

Education

Bachelor's degree - business, finance, economics, Industrial Engineering concentrations or related field is required.

A Master's Degree in Business Administration is preferred.
