The Manager, Safety will be the key technical resource and provide the daily leadership oversight, feedback and development to the salaried and O&T Cast in the development, implementation and sustainment of crucial safety programs for their designated business. You will use sound technical judgment to perform and lead others in the identification, assessment, analysis and solving of a broad spectrum of safety issues across a diverse group of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts businesses.

The Manager, Safety reports to the Sr. Manager, Safety

What You Will Do

On any given day, as a Manager, Safety, you might:

  • Improve results by guiding the team in the implementation of safety programs, performing job task analysis, analyzing injury and illness trend data, evaluating safety performance, and finding opportunities to improve safety performance.
  • Assign work tasks, provide leadership, gather and combine team input to form recommended action plans and analyze data/trends to guide incident reduction and hazard mitigation.
  • Focus improving performance, reviewing source material (rules, codes, laws and standards) and identifying and sharing industry practices.
  • Share responsibility with Manager, Safety Services in serving as primary contact with client senior executive.
  • Apply safety standards and able to perform and lead others in resolving complex issues outside of established regulations.
  • Maintain relationships and work as part of a team within a matrix environment with all levels of leadership and employees.
  • Work individually and leading a team in driving above average incident reduction results achieved through the development and implementation of targeted safety strategies and tactics.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Here’s what you need to be successful at this job:

  • 10 + years of industrial safety experience required in a related field (petro chemical, construction, maintenance, manufacturing, hospitality, entertainment/theatrical, transportation, distribution/warehouse)
  • Basic ergonomic, industrial hygiene or food safety experience
  • Experience leading successful teams
  • Bi-lingual language skills

Required Education

  • 4 year college degree

Preferred Education

  • 4 year degree in Occupational Safety or Safety Engineering
  • Advanced degree in Occupational Safety or Safety Engineering
  • Certifications: CSP, CIH, REHS, ARM, CPE, or PE
