You will envision the next, amazing experiences and guide a team on creative issues while partnering with the Producer and Project Manager to drive innovation and achieve creative and strategic objectives related to story, guest experience and place-making.  Requires proficiencies with broad artistic and technical knowledge to align an interdisciplinary team around a large scale or innovative & complex attraction or interactive experience. You will be a creative leader for the development creative content and product throughout the project life cycle, from Blue Sky through Opening.  This position holds creative direction responsibilities across all aspects of the guest experience.    

                

You Will: 

  • Create, develop, articulate the vision and direct the experiences that define the creative product 

  • Direct ideation and development creative concepts in formats including illustrative written treatments, concept art, storyboards, models, previsualization or animatics, or any other effective methods. 

  • Create and present projects to internal/external audiences, executives, and teams to communicate concept, content and status. 

  • Drive the story for the projects and evolve as necessary to maintain and deliver the intended experience. 

  • Collaborate with Live Entertainment directors and their staff, consultant and staff artists, and various other creative collaborators to integrate live entertainment components.

  • Lead, guide, direct, and advise project & productions team.

  • Pitch show concepts and storyboards to all leaders and key strategic partners.

  • Work with the Producer and functional leaders to identify, evaluate, and assign both internal & consultant creative talent in a wide variety of disciplines (writers, directors, composers, designers, illustrators, programmers, game designers, etc.) for assignment to projects.  

  • Outreach and develop connections with external community, and direct contact with the media.

  • Be responsible for the ideation, creative vision and maintenance of an attraction or show facility (restaurant, merchandise, etc.). 

  • Partner with Creative Portfolio Executive or Executive Creative Director to determine the creative direction of a given entity.

  • Build the vision or facilitate its creation through art direction and story development (treatments, story boards, visual models, sketches, concept art, traditional and computer rendering).

  • Serve as a creative "balancing point" when operational, financial, or marketing considerations may affect creative content and direction.

You Will Have: 

  • Minimum 7 years of related experience in artistic/design disciplines, i.e. architecture, interior design, concept design, theatrical/scenic design, production or related field. 

  • Broad knowledge of and experience with complex show theatrical technologies: lighting, effects, media and extensive experience integrating and developing shows around ride system technology.

  • Proficient with communication and visualization tools including scripting, narratives, concept designs, story boards, 3-D modeling and 3D design & visualization tools, dimensional design. 

  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams on multiple projects of various complexities from high-risk to low risk.

Education    

  • BA/BS/MFA in Theater, Film, Engineering, Interior Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, Fine Arts, or related field preferred.
