Job Summary:

The Sr Manager, HR Decision Science & Advanced Analytics will lead a team of highly skilled experts and professionals, to conceptualize, design, and develop new data and decision science capabilities, and to create reusable software and system components that have potential for broad use in the analytics and people insights domain.

Responsibilities

  • Manage workload and resources to align with the strategic goals of People Insights and Decision Science, and maximize business value.
  • Identify high-value opportunities for ML/AI/NLP to support HR and business strategies.
  • Develop a work plan by connecting various issues and priorities, and proactively identify areas where Advanced Analytics, Decision Science, and Machine Learning can add the most value.
  • Lead the development and implementation of statistical and machine learning techniques to support business decisions.
  • Act as a thought partner and subject matter expert to refine ideas, generate hypotheses, analyze data, and apply advanced statistical models to formulate solutions.
  • Identify future platform and analytical tools to evolve department capabilities in conjunction with Enterprise Technology.
  • Lead the design, build, and maintenance of machine learning models, data pipelines, data engineering solutions, data science solutions, data integration solutions, and automated insights.
  • Manage and sustain analytical infrastructure, technologies, and solutions by working with teams such as IT, Decision Scientists, and Analytics Partners.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in ML, data engineering, processing, and the usage and integration of public, external, and third-party data.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performance team to manage complex projects and technical initiatives, and identify innovative solutions for system requirements and design.


Required qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in statistics, optimization, machine learning, and/or econometrics
  • Expertise in statistical and algorithmic solution development
  • Competence in mathematical computing with at least one programming language (e.g. Python, R, Java), and the ability to learn technical methods and tools independently
  • Competence in data engineering, architecture, including data modeling and data pipeline development
  • Proficiency in data visualization / presentation skills, including the ability to simplify ML outputs, statistical concepts into simple and actionable insights
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS and Google Cloud to build and deploy robust decision-making models and tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to consult with non-technical teams and convert that to technical requirements
  • Experience leading a team and developing others

Preferred qualifications:

  • Contribution to Open-Source ML/Data projects
  • Experience in Deep-Learning, NLP, and parallel and distributed programming
  • Experience with HR / employee data
  • Advanced degree (master’s or above) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Engineering, or equivalent experience
