You will report to the Senior Manager – Worldwide Safety Assurance (WSA).

This is a Full-Time role located in Orlando, FL or Anaheim, CA.

What You Will Do

  • Actively lead and participate in regularly occurring Operational Safety audits throughout the Disney Experiences segment throughout the various stages of the audit (e.g., scope development, audit activity, post-audit follow up, etc.)
  • Leverage data driven information, documented procedure and in-field observations to verify safety critical operating practices align with both Disney and External safety standard.
  • Develop expertise in attractions, transportation, entertainment, recreation and other operations focused lines of businesses to effectively understand operating practices to audit against.
  • Build relationships with leaders at all levels to gain their trust and assure the audit findings, observations, and understandings developed are accurate to the operations in review.
  • Drive stakeholder agreement on any items from the audit processes to help develop actionable plans for mitigation.
  • Create and present Management and Executive audit report-outs that include driving follow-up requirements to completion.
  • Act as a regular representative for operations related initiatives through reoccurring meetings with partners throughout the segment.
  • Steer technical conversations with Senior Leadership with a confident/fact-based approach to drive actionable conclusions to identified issues.
  • Proactively drive both short-term and long-term scope planning, using subject matter expertise to make decisions to influence audit decisions for all audit activity for the team.
  • Champion one or multiple operations lines of businesses supported by WSA, by working directly with WSA Leadership and Operations leadership to serve as a resource for answers and decision making as events occur.  
  • Use auditing expertise to diagnose the root cause behind any systemic issue found, both in regular auditing and through other investigation work.
  • Act as a mentor to team members and clients by daily actions, direction provided, and thoughtfulness when making critical decisions.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in Attractions, Entertainment, Recreation, or Transportation or related fields
  • Knowledge of and experience with theme park safety-related standards, regulations, policies, and practices
  • Experience driving processes and accomplishing project goals.
  • Familiarity in SharePoint, MS Teams and Smartsheet use and maintenance.
  • Experience leading safety projects with a history of increasing responsibility.
  • History of leading and/or mentoring peers, with the ability to influence all types of people.
  • Demonstrated a strong process-oriented mindset with exceptional attention to detail, ensuring all tasks are executed precisely and consistently according to established standards.
  • Recognition and adaptation to group dynamics, ability to moderate within varying circumstances (i.e. ability to “read the room” and adapt).
  • Proven ability to communicate within all levels of our organization, including executive management.
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to translate audit specific details for a non-technical executive audience.
  • Experience gaining consensus and leading improvements in a positive and collaborative manner.
  • Demonstrates the physical capability and resilience required for the role, including standing for extended periods (8+ hours), walking several miles each day, and working in various weather conditions. Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment, climbing steps, ladders, and scaffolds, as well as working in confined or dark spaces as needed to ensure operational excellence and safety.
  • You will work a flexible schedule, (rarely, but potentially including weekends, holidays and evenings)
  • Available to travel, with the possibility of international travel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Disney experience with knowledge on Disney specific processes and standards.
  • Experience establishing and/or monitoring the health of safety critical processes and requirements.
  • Core understanding of the Performance Alignment Model and auditing.
  • Knowledge of multiple operations focused Lines of Businesses, such as Attractions, Transportation, Entertainment, Recreation, etc.
  • Proficiency with Smartsheet’s reporting and dashboard capabilities.
  • Training, experience, or certification in auditing process
  • Experience as a Leader of Leaders or equivalent.

Education

  • Associate’s Degree or higher equivalent experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree-Preferred
  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) – preferred


The hiring range for this position in Orlando, FL is $75,700-$101,400 & for Anaheim, CA $79,400 -$106,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
