Attractions Operational Technology (AOT) is a dynamic team comprising Software Engineering, Data Operations, Platform Systems, and Project Management. Together, we develop diverse solutions—from web applications to real-time embedded systems—powering our attractions globally, including on cruise ships. We partner closely with Walt Disney Imagineering on future attractions and are responsible for sustaining attraction systems once they open to guests.
As a Senior Technical Project Manager-Project Hire, you will lead multiple cross-functional, technically focused projects staffed by Software and Platform Engineers. You will drive delivery across the full application lifecycle—from new development through continuous improvement and sustainment—using a product-focused mindset. This role leads Scrum ceremonies, gathers stakeholder requirements, and presents updates to executive audiences while partnering closely with maintenance, safety, and engineering teams to deliver world-class guest experiences across Disney Parks. This position will rely on the individual’s ability to successfully partner with engineering on system design and architecture discussions. This role will begin by leading expansion work on the Attractions AMVS (Automated Maintenance Verification System) system and continue development and rollout efforts on the Attraction Packet Exchanger.
This position will report to the Manager-Technical Project Management.
This is a 19-month Project Hire position without any guarantee of permanent placement.
Responsibilities/You Will
Lead large-scale, multi-team initiatives supporting global attraction systems
Coordinate across multiple lines of business: Imagineering, Engineering, Safety, Facilities Management, and Operations teams
Plan, and manage project activities across the full project lifecycle, facilitating Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement
Own end-to-end delivery of technical initiatives, ensuring alignment to schedule, scope and business priorities while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
Drive improvements in delivery predictability, team velocity, and system reliability
Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with business and operational goals
Gather, prioritize, and translate customer and stakeholder requirements into actionable plans
Partner with technical teams to refine product features, scope, and delivery approach
Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, issues, and cross-team dependencies
Establish reporting frameworks, KPIs and dashboards to track progress and long term performance
Serve as the voice of the customer, ensuring solutions meet end-user needs and expectations
Facilitate regular stakeholder meetings to drive alignment, transparency, and issue resolution
Establish and manage project milestones, baselines, and performance metrics
Develop and deliver clear, concise executive-level presentations and status updates
Lead additional initiatives including process modeling, workflow design, data analysis, and stakeholder roadshows
Basic Qualifications/You Will Have
5+ years of experience in project management or a related field
Proven track record of successfully delivering multiple concurrent software development projects
5+ years of experience applying Agile or hybrid project delivery methodologies
Strong experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and Agile team practices
Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, and Smartsheet
Ability to analyze, interpret, and leverage data to inform decisions
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage technical teams and executive stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Experience partnering with engineering teams on technical project delivery
Familiarity with product and portfolio management principles
Experience with source control platforms such as GitHub or GitLab
Relevant Agile certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner [CSPO], Certified ScrumMaster [CSM])
Experience with resource management, including interviewing engineering staff
Strong communication skills related to performance management and team feedback
Education
Bachelor's Degree is required
PMP Certification is required
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering is preferred

The hiring range for this position in Florida is $123,100.00 to $165,100.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
