Responsibilities/ You Will
Provide peripheral engineering support functions for Ride Engineers, enabling the engineers to utilize their time and energies to focus on the development of their designs and engineering.
The Ride Development Spec Sr supports the Engineers towards the completion of detailed, engineering specific work you're doing and documentation.
Ride Development Spec Sr works as an intermediary, directed by the Project Engineer, to represent (case by case) the specific subject area in meetings and in other communications. Also maintains specialized knowledge of the Ride Engineering team’s field and processes, ensuring all discipline-specific assignments are standardized and being fulfilled.
- We communicate and interact with all levels of individuals on Ride Project Team and Ride Development Team
- Provide ride system interface information to other groups within WDI
- Organize and facilitate brainstorming sessions to explore solutions/ideas.
- Discuss, relay, and track scope to contractors/vendors
- Cross' team collaboration
- Communicate scope/expectations to Vendors
- Act as a liaison on behalf of Ride Engineers (assisting with project controls workflows, intercepting and reviewing contracts before final review of signature)
- Reporting of and following-up on Ride Engineering-specific, updates with the Engineers for any tasks needing attention and/or tracking
- Prepare and maintain Engineering reports, records and contracts. creating spreadsheets for Engineering analysis with data provided by the Engineers, and tracking punch lists exclusively for Ride
- Attend and participate in daily/weekly meetings to record minutes, as required, solely pertinent to the work of Ride Engineering to ensure all Engineers are kept current with activities and information related to their current work
- Perform simple drawing corrections, redline changes, correct Title Block/Revision blocks in the AutoCAD system
- Track BOM (Bill of Material) updates
- Prepare and oversee the process workflow of ride engineering drawing releases that have been reviewed by the Engineers
- Prepare project books
- Manage and organize design review meetings
Basic Qualifications/ You Will Have
- Minimum five years work experience, plus experience with engineering tools and fundamentals
- Ability to work collaboratively within a large and diverse team environment
- Ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical team members
- Ability to maintain and foster open and ongoing communication with other groups (within or outside the division).
- Communicate skills related to scope/expectations with Vendors
- Comprehensive understanding of the Engineering Release processes
- Understanding of “drawing trees” and ability to assist engineers creating drawing trees.
Required Education
BS degree in a technical degree or equivalent experience. A minimum of an Associate (2–3-year degree in design) or a non-technical degree is required.
