Job Summary:

At Disney Experiences Technology, our team creates world-class immersive digital experiences for the Company’s premier vacation brands including Disney’s Parks & Resorts worldwide, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, and Disney Vacation Club. The Disney Experiences Technology team is responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology and digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation, and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including the MyDisneyExperience app and Hey, Disney!

About the Team:

This role sits in the Retail, Restaurant, and Supply Chain Technology organization within Disney Experiences Technology. It works closely with a diverse team of engineers and service owners from across the company.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with Android hardware vendor engineering to optimize device performance, power efficiency, and overall usage experience.

  • Identify and implement performance testing tools to maintain device compatibility and stability.

  • Maintain Android platform updates through an MDM solution.

  • Debug and resolve issues on the Android platform, including application performance, performance bottleneck and system crashes.

  • Create and use Firebase dashboard to monitor Android application performances.

  • Plans and executes platform-oriented projects that include business unit initiatives and updates to existing platforms as needed.

  • Works with business units to plan for new projects and events impacting the relevant platform.

  • Collaborating with team members across multiple departments, leverage your skills in managing lab equipment assets, software, setup and breakdown.

  • Set up, maintain, and upgrade lab assets/environments.

  • Coordinate and communicate the deployments of lab environments.

  • Participates in the development and refinement of standards and best practices for lab environments based on the needs of the supported business unit.

  • Oversee lab equipment software and hardware configurations representing all use cases and develop supporting documentation.

  • Optimize and manage lab equipment, inventory, stock, safety, calibration schedules, training assets, and acquisitions of equipment.

  • Collaborate with partners to develop improvements and efficiently test environments to support needs and requirements.

  • Work with partners to support new test cases, configuration of training centers, and perform maintenance and upgrades when needed.

  • Facilitate lab organization efforts, including clean-up and recycling.

  • Partner with support teams on any physical space requirements.

  • Create and maintain documentation on lab assets, configuration, and processes.

  • Ensure lab equipment/environments are available for periodic penetration testing and that configuration represents production deployments accurately.

  • Participate as a member of the team and contribute to support and sustainment activities when needed and insofar as it doesn’t conflict with primary release responsibilities.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in technology, program/project management, or related experience in the technology development or process space

  • Strong experience in Android platform development, including system-level software, device drivers, and low-level firmware

  • In-depth knowledge of the Android framework, APIs, and system architecture

  • Familiarity with hardware interfaces and protocols, such as USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and NFC

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and software development methodologies (e.g. Agile)

  • Strong problem solving skills to debug complex hardware and software interactions in an Android system

  • Experience with SaaS solution hosted in AWS

  • Experience with Epson ESC/P command

  • Experience with Zebra handheld scanners and supporting utilities

  • Understanding of network fundamentals

  • Familiarity with technology cables and how to make

  • Familiarity with industry standards of asset management

  • Familiarity with asset management tools such as Asset Panda

  • Familiarity with remote device management tools such as LANDESK and/or Splashtop

  • Familiarity with mobile device management tools such as Airwatch

  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle

  • Understanding of application infrastructure, system architecture, operating systems, and mobile client software

  • Ability to create technical and process documentation

  • Must be able to accommodate a schedule that includes occasional overnight deployments

  • Point of Sale and e-commerce experience strongly preferred

  • Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills

  • Ability to lift and move boxes/packages weighing up to 40 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Jira and other project management tools

  • Experience with retail and/or hospitality industry and technology

  • AWS Cloud Practitioner certification

  • AWS SysOps Administrator certification

  • Associate Android developer certification

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred or equivalent experience
