The Global Network Engineering & Operations (GNEO) organization is responsible for the architecture, engineering, and operational integrity of the enterprise’s global telecommunications and network infrastructure. GNEO’s mission is to design, deliver, and operate scalable, resilient, and secure network solutions that support business capabilities across all regions and lines of business.
GNEO specialists and designs advanced network and transport systems to meet evolving business requirements, strategic initiatives, and long-term technology roadmaps. This includes a wide range of transport and IP topologies, modern network services, automation frameworks, and standards-based network architectures aligned with Telecom Strategy & Architecture guidelines.
The Technical Specialist identifies and delivers telecommunications, WAN, MAN, LAN, and Wi‑Fi solutions & IoT that meet business requirements across the enterprise. This role operates, implements and design network systems, implements solutions, and provides proactive status to Business Units. The specialist also evaluates evolving telecom/network technologies and serves as a consultative interface to Business Units for new initiatives.
This role will help the organization as it continues to mature as a NetDevOps team that utilizes automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC). The role collaborates with outsourced suppliers and vendors to communicate GNEO/Telecom requirements and reviews proposed solutions to ensure designs align with business needs and established standards.
Responsibilities
Provide hands-on support for Wi-Fi, Cellular, GPON, IoT, and radio upgrades, installations, and operations
Provide onsite consultation to customers and ensure 24x7 operational support of multiple wireless networks to maintain SLAs and high Disney standards
Provide operational design input into new wireless deployments
Collaborate with other network engineering teams and service suppliers to provide wireless solutions
Conduct wireless RF surveys (Ekahau) and identify RF issues such as RF interference, SNR, and co-channel interference
Interface with internal and external teams to understand issues and recommend wireless solutions
Perform and interpret survey results and draw conclusions for in-depth troubleshooting
Perform fiber-optic tracing and patching
Coordinate and validate network changes
support the telecom wireless networks and be able to be on-call rotation.
Provide oversight to cellular and radio project deployments
Provide level 2 support to triage network connectivity issues during outages and escalations, including, but not limited to, hands-on support, device testing, RF site surveys, advanced network troubleshooting, and fiber-optic testing
Troubleshoot complex network issues across layers 1–7, driving root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions
Use and contribute to development of automation and network management tools to improve reliability and operational efficiency
Ensure adherence to security standards, segmentation policies, and compliance requirements
Support Wireless, VoIP, and Video Conferencing services integration within a multi‑platform environment
Qualifications
3+ years progressive experience in LAN design, configuration, implementation, and troubleshooting; project coordination experience preferred
Exposure to GPON networking and IoT technologies
Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and stakeholders
Proven track record collaborating with cross-functional technical and managerial teams to resolve complex problems
Customer-focused mindset with strong ownership and follow-through
Strong knowledge/experience in wide and local area network design, configuration, installation, evaluation, and problem resolution
Working knowledge of LAN environments, including hardware, software, and cabling for Ethernet; experience with platforms such as Cisco Nexus/ASR
Experience interfacing network services with Wireless, VoIP, and Video Conferencing in a multi-platform environment
Demonstrated ability to coordinate and deliver projects (plans/schedules, implementation, quality gates) in a timely and cost-effective manner
Strong knowledge of network security and firewalls
Solid understanding of fiber-based networks
Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite
5 years of professional experience in a computer-related department.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of wireless design (site surveys, RF planning, controllers) and performance tuning
Cisco CCNA
Education
Bachelor's degree in a technical-related field, appropriate certifications, or equivalent work experience
The hiring range for this position in Orlando, FL is $84,800 to $113,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
