Job Summary:

Enterprise Technology is looking for an individual with strong technical and troubleshooting skills to support wireless network operations at Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts. The Wireless & Network Technician will provide remote and field support, be accountable for site surveys, equipment installations, and implementation of wireless solutions across property. This individual should have a shown understanding of Wi-Fi, Cellular, and Radio networking proven through past examples.

This position will report to the Manager, Telecom Network Operations & will be on-site in Orlando, FL.

What You Will Do

  • Provide hands-on and remote support for Wi-Fi, Cellular, and radio upgrades, installations, and routine & emergency maintenance

  • Provide onsite consultation to customers and ensure 24x7 operational support of multiple wireless networks to maintain SLAs and high Disney standards

  • Provide operational design input into new and supplemental wireless deployments

  • Collaborate with other network engineering teams and service suppliers to provide wireless solutions

  • Conduct wireless RF surveys to deliver to business units

  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to understand issues and recommend wireless solutions

  • Perform and interpret survey results and draw conclusions for in-depth troubleshooting

  • Perform fiber-optic tracing and patching

  • Coordinate and validate network changes

  • Provide oversight to cellular and radio project deployments

  • Provide level 2 support to triage optical and wireless connectivity issues including, but not limited to: hands on repair, RF Survey, fiber-optic testing, and Heat Map generation

  • Respond to and resolve network and wireless failures across property

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years in the Telecommunications Industry.

  • 3+ years network and wireless engineering experience

  • Strong knowledge of Wi-Fi and Cellular characteristics, and RF signal propagation

  • Solid understanding and experience with enterprise wireless support, sustainment, and implementation

  • Solid understanding of cellular based networks including LTE handoff and CBRS technology

  • Solid understanding of GPON networks and fiber optic installation standard processes

  • Proven ability to use various Wireless survey tools (AirMagnet, PC-Tel, See-Hawk, Anritsu, etc.)

  • Solid knowledge of fiber-based networks, networking and GPON solutions

  • Moderate experience with Cisco Prime, WCS, or NCS

  • Understanding of wireless protocols including LTE, 802.11x, etc.

  • Strong understanding of quality construction practices and jobsite safety

  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite and Smartsheet

  • Strong understanding of Aruba; Mobility Conductor, Airwave, Central, access points and diagnostic devices such as Cape Sensors

  • Passion for, and knowledge, of Wireless systems and solutions

  • Proven success collaborating with a range of partners

  • Documentation experience with test results, maintenance plans, and network diagrams

Education

  • Degree in a technical related field, appropriate certifications, or equivalent work experience

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Technology, or Computer Science

  • CCNA-Wireless certifications
