You will be responsible for the development and modification of safety-critical documentation. This will include technical content including, but not limited to, engineering and safety procedures, maintenance instructions, and associated technical content, as well as operational and training documentation. In this role, you work with a passionate team about all facets of Performance Alignment including documentation, training, assessment, and auditing for safety-critical processes.

You will report to Manager-Technical Publications

This is a Project Hire/Temporary Assignment (TA) with no guarantee of permanent placement with an estimated end date of 10/23/2027.

What You Will Do

  • Model safe behaviors at all times, and encourage team members, peers, and partners to do the same.

  • Participate and assist in the review of applicable standards and industry guidelines.

  • Develop new content or modify existing content, based on input from quality engineering, facilities engineering, and safety services.

  • Translate subject matter information into formalized procedures in a standardized format. Ensure appropriate configuration management and version control for all documentation.

  • Ensure all appropriate documentation reviews and approvals are acquired and documented.

  • Verify all documentation meets compliance requirements.

  • Use applicable software programs to create and distribute documentation to user groups.

  • Communicate progress and provide regular updates to leader.

  • After the project, ensure that all documentation results are set up in appropriate systems and sustainment guidelines are updated and available.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 1-5 Years Experience in Technical publications/documentation field, including knowledge of the content of existing Disney technical publications, Disney Standards Directory, and Operational Guidelines.

  • Proven ability to translate technical training requirements into appropriate documentation, including technical documents, operational guidelines, or training documentation.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools, Outlook, SharePoint, and relevant learning management systems (LMS) or document management systems.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail.

  • A high degree of self-motivation and initiative with the ability to multi-task.

  • Participate in cross-functional teams and possess strong social skills.

  • Proven ability to quickly adapt to new systems/technology.

  • Demonstrated excellent relationship management and collaboration skills.

  • Able to work 2nd and 3rd shift work and offsite when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in spoken and/or written Mandarin or Simplified Chinese.

  • Experience in implementing or using the Performance Alignment model.

  • Familiarity with maritime standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Proficiency with D Learn, Maximo.

  • Proven instructional design background.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, technical documentation, training and development, engineering or equivalent experience.

  • Degree in Instructional Design- Preferred.

Additional Information:

The position may be based in California or Florida, adhering to the office requirements and regulations specific to Disney Requirements.

The hiring range for this position in California is $68,600 to $91,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
