What You Will Do

Position Description:

The social media production intern is a content development, production, and editing role. They will be responsible for supporting social productions that align with communications and business objectives while still being engaging for guests. The goal is to find creative ways to build brand trust and loyalty with external audiences and support project and archival needs with internal audiences. 

The ideal candidate thrives in an agile and collaborative environment, is willing to take risks, and share original and innovative ideas. The person in this role must be highly motivated and bring a fresh thinking, nimble approach to the role. The ideal candidate is optimistic, a self-starter, and very detail-oriented.

Responsibilities:

  • Support video and photo projects from conception to completion, ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with brand strategies/priorities.
  • Assist on-site video and photo shoots, including filming, lighting, audio and crew assignment.
  • Routes final deliverables for approval and manages edit requests in a timely, professional manner.
  • Edits and enhances video content using various editing software.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to understand project requirements.
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with partners.
  • Keeps production calendars and pipeline grid up-to-date and reports out on upcoming projects.
  • Stays up-to-date on social media trends and platforms, to better develop creative and innovative content strategies and campaigns. Platforms include, but not limited to, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Snapchat and TikTok.
  • Archive finished projects in an organized and accessible manner for future use.

Role Qualifications:

  • Experience with visual storytelling as well as producing compelling and engaging social content.
  • Proficient with Adobe Premiere & Photoshop to edit videos and photos.
  • A passion for social media and current trends, especially on Instagram and YouTube.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information and to exercise good judgment and discretion when handling sensitive issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a group as well as independently with little supervision.
  • Openness to feedback with the ability to defend a creative choice while respectfully managing revisions.
  • Solution-oriented perspective that manages change well.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and work within a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Experience setting up video equipment, cameras, microphones, and lighting.
  • Comfortable with the physical demands of the role, which can include working outside in the elements (extreme heat and/or cold), continuously holding, carrying, and lifting up to 25 pounds of video equipment, frequent walking & standing.
  • An appreciation for the Disney brands and general understanding of the many global businesses represented within Disney Experiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Broad understanding of the role of social media in society today and its application to business.
  • Experience writing social copy for various social media platforms including, but not limited to Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
  • Knowledge and understanding of social media KPIs.
  • Experience with Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, Media Encoder, and Apple Keynote.
  • Work, academic, or internship experience in social media, video editing, or related fields.
  • Previous Disney experience.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree by taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work.
  • Must be fully available for the duration of the internship with the ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.

Education

Currently enrolled as a junior or higher attending an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in Communication, Marketing Communication, Visual Communication or related field

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship 
  • Be at least 18 years of age 
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization 
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.

The pay rate for this role in Orlando, FL is $22.50 per hour for undergraduate students and $30.40 per hour for graduate level students.
