CORE FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITES:
- Provides advice and guidance to WDI front line supervisor and Contractor on safe working practice, work methods and other occupational safety and health related matters
- Liaise with internal and external parties such as Government officials, Professional bodies, operation team and other agencies to plan and implement regular safety programme
- Makes arrangement for the review of method statement and risk assessment from Contractors to ensure that hazards are identified, that risks have been assessed and that sufficient controls are available to monitor
- Conduct periodic safety inspections for ensuring compliance with WDI procedures and standards
- Monitors the progress of investigations into unsafe practices, accidents and incidents
- Investigate accidents and submit reports and make recommendations on corrective action. Bring to the attention of the Contractor any matters arising that require the revision of existing procedures
- Attending ad hoc and regularly safety meeting to serve as an adviser on job method & process safety
- Providing effective control and monitoring over the Contractors
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree/Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
- Registered with the Hong Kong Labor Department as Safety Officer
- Minimum 10 years of construction site safety experience
- Solid experience with major building contractors or developers
- Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities and projects
- In-depth knowledge of Hong Kong Occupational Safety and Health Regulations
- Strong interpersonal skills and be diplomatic
