Job Responsibilities:
- Develops and communicates creative concepts and aesthetic ideas for theme park attractions, resorts interiors and/or other themed entertainment venues, under the creative direction of the Walt Disney Imagineering Hong Kong team.
- Works in collaboration with other team members in developing ideas
- Provides concept direction for designing show models/sets/scenic elements, through the use of paint, sketching, storyboarding and/or computer art
- Takes work from concept to development in production and field installation by working digitally in the computer on 3-D models, sketching or through non-traditional applications
- Leads the creative team in the development of designs, contributing final art for production and assists with color design
- Works on projects of high complexity for a larger scope, from concept to completion
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate creative concepts using multiple mediums
- Be Assigned to multiple projects which may include “Blue Sky” design studio, scenic illusions, and various capital authorized projects
- Has ability to lead large projects through to design intent level and art direct their fabrication, with approval from the Creative Lead.
- Be strong source of ideas during brainstorming sessions, contributing thumbnail sketches and other methods for capturing ideas.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Arts, Fine Arts or related design field. Bachelor Degree in Theater, Animation, Architecture or Environmental Design preferred.
- Minimum 12 years of relevant working experience, preferably in arts trainings, theatrical designs, interior designs, environmental designs or entertainment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment, including architecture, interior design, area development, etc.
- Accomplished artistic visual and conceptual skills, including a talent for quick concept sketches as well as fully rendered paintings, drawings, storyboards, 2D digital painting, 3D modeling/sculpting.
- Superior design and concept visualization skills supported by practical experience.
- Proficient in digital creative mediums, for example Photoshop, Painter, Illustrator, 3D Studio Max, Maya, Z-Brush, Sketch Up, etc.
- Strong demonstrated ability to conceptualize themed interior design and communicate design ideas. Strong creative concept design, layout and sketching skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated commitment to producing high quality work.
