Job Summary:

  • Formulate Visual Merchandising (VM) Strategy and Concepts aligning Hong Kong Disneyland (HKDL) and merchandise priorities, communicate and seek management buy in 

  • Managing the team to convert strategy and concepts into action plan, implement and integrate the VM initiatives into Store Operations 

  • Develop guidelines for Store Operations team, manage compliance of all Disney visual standards and guidelines, conduct training sessions as needed to all Store Operations team members. 

  • Ensure the compliance of Show Quality for unique Guest Experience 

  • Manage diverse projects such as Seasonal Special Events, Marketing Events, and overall VM strategies, partnering with different Lines of Business, advising on concepts, and identifying business opportunities for revenue growth. 

  • Lead team development through meetings, feedback, individual growth identification, technical skill enhancement, job exposure, and proposing relevant training for overall capability and succession planning. 

  • Manage visual display budgets aligned with merchandise priorities, optimize operational efficiency, and ensure cost-effectiveness. Oversee online shop photo quality and coordinate editing resources for Store Operations team. 

  • Manage external vendors to ensure quality displays, safe installation and compliance to all regulations and guidelines in a cost-effective way. Review Merchandise website periodically and discuss with Merchandise E-Commerce Manager   

 

Job requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in design or related disciplines 

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with a strong understanding of retail trends and experience of formulating floor set in response to market needs. 

  • Good communication skills are required to turn the technical issue or concrete concept into generally understandable information as well as to deliver the proper message to different stakeholders 

  • Good interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills are required to identify and realize the source of potential conflict 

  • Require a high degree of judgment in consolidating all the related analysis and research to identify trends which fit into business opportunities.  

  • Provide leadership and guidance to visual team members and partnership to store operation teams,  

  • Proficient in Design specific Computer software and Mac Computer operation for day-to-day review and revision of design and concepts 

  • Good creativity and sensitivity to fashion trends, store planning and design for the location expansion/renovation to maximize the potential return. 

  • Skilled in graphic design and sku placement in various locations. 

  • Good multi-tasking skills with ability to provide direction and guide subordinates. Ability to prioritize tasks based on business needs
