About the Role & Team 

Disney+ is The Walt Disney Company’s Direct to Consumer video entertainment service. The service consists of long-form and short-form videos built around key content brands (Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Hulu, and National Geographic) with an appealing and easy to use interface accessed across multiple platforms (e.g. televisions, mobile devices, PCs).

The Disney+ team is responsible for the day-to-day operation and growth of Disney+ across Europe, Middle East and Africa, specifically focused on customer acquisition and retention, marketing, partnerships and synergy, content programming, research and analytics. Within that team, the Commercial Performance and Planning team is responsible for providing a consolidated view of ongoing EMEA trading performance of Disney+, driving insights and decision-making to optimise sign-ups and subscriber growth, and overseeing the Disney+ annual and quarterly planning process.

We are looking for a forward-thinking, analytically minded Commercial Planning Supervisor to join our Disney+ Commercial Performance and Planning team. The purpose of this role is to ensure we have robust, well-defined and socialised targets for sign-ups, retention and other key Direct to Consumer metrics, both for the long term and to guide the business on a quarterly, weekly and daily basis. This role will leverage strategic thinking, ability to pull insights from Disney+ data, bottom-up plans from markets, market intelligence, research and analytics, to synthesise them and define the most appropriate plans for the Direct to Consumer business.

This is a central role within the Disney+ EMEA business, which will work in collaboration with our local European markets, across regional Disney+ functions (incl. marketing, product and content teams), BD & strategy teams, as well as Finance teams across Europe and the US. 

What You Will Do 

  • Support in building Disney+ annual strategy and annual planning for Disney+ subscriber growth through acquisition and retention across multiple tiers, plans, and markets, leveraging market and competitor insights, learnings from Disney+ research, past performance, and analysis of future trends
  • Driving monthly / bi-monthly forecasting process for Disney+ EMEA subscriber growth across acquisition and retention, for retail and wholesale customers, in close partnership with Disney+ Finance and Analytics teams
  • Modelling for business cases and scenarios to support decision-making on pricing/promotion, go-to-market strategies, new trading models, and other growth initiatives
  • Become a subject matter expert on key areas of the subscription business, driving impact through your knowledge of subscriber acquisition and retention
  • Analyse current trends of trading
  • Work in close collaboration with US Direct to Consumer subscriber planning teams to align on latest EMEA plans, strategic initiatives, content targets, planning methodologies
  • Supporting in preparation for EMEA & US updates, including gathering relevant data, conducting key analyses, and creating decks

Required Qualifications & Skills 

  • Experience working in data-driven environments and driving decision-making through data
  • Experience working with large datasets and forming business recommendations at pace
  • Experience dealing with and presenting to senior level stakeholders
  • Ability to tailor comms to different audiences (e.g. country teams, execs)
  • Experience in consulting or media sector preferred

  • High numeracy and analytical ability & rigour, attention to detail
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Ability to challenge high-level numbers and develop quick & accurate ‘back of the envelope’ scenarios
  • Strategic mindset, with an ability to extract key insights from datasets
  • Strong presentation skills, with clear and succinct written and verbal communications
  • Skilled at prioritising and managing multiple project schedules, analyses, and deadlines that run simultaneously
  • Demonstrated success in influencing cross-functional teams, stakeholders and leadership
  • Positive, people-oriented, and energetic attitude
  • Ability to work autonomously
