About the Role & Team
The Disney+ Marketing Strategy Manager will lead the development of the UK marketing strategy, working closely with the Senior Marketing Manager and Marketing Director to craft the future direction of Disney+ marketing in this key market. By leveraging insights from the Insights & Analytics team, this role will ensure consumer-driven strategies guide decisions and identify growth opportunities.
A core focus will be on forward planning, trend analysis, and connecting strategic thinking across teams, including Brand and Content Marketing, as well as Acquisition and Retention, to deliver a cohesive 360-degree marketing approach. The role will also partner with the UK media agency to improve growth opportunities and drive key objectives: building brand awareness, consideration, and excitement for high-priority content, ultimately supporting subscriber acquisition, retention, and loyalty.
The Marketing Strategy Manager will play a central role in strategic projects, aligning recommendations with brand and business goals, and participating in quarterly and annual planning processes. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential, as this role involves engaging with senior stakeholders and creating impactful presentations. Reporting to the UK Marketing Director, the role will also act as a key advisor to the Content Marketing Director, Brand Marketing Director, and broader marketing teams.
This is an office-based role. 4 days working in the Hammersmith, London office with 1 day working from home.
What You Will Do
- Lead the continual development of the marketing strategy for Disney+ in the UK, collecting and managing inputs from across the business.
- Identify trends and headroom opportunities, and work with relevant internal teams to turn these into actionable plans for the UK marketing team to execute.
- Using insights and data, work with the senior marketing manager to plan out the calendar of marketing campaigns with recommendations on content selection which drives the UK business.
- Drive UK&I Disney+ quarterly and annual planning by providing insight-driven recommendations, monitoring performance, and constructively challenging as needed within the broader Disney+ marketing strategy.
- Bring together UK&I market performance tracking and take an end-to-end view from brand health metrics to customer net growth and financial performance, ensuring key opportunities or performance issues are spotted early
- Be an expert on the attitudes and behaviours of key UK audiences and where and how to connect with them.
- Input into the annual EMEA Media and communications playbook by sharing relevant strategic pillars, and consumer insights and collaborating with campaign managers, research and analytics teams
- Bring together the UK&I cross-functional lead into a collaborative community, ensuring thinking and plans are holistic and joined up and creating a forum for strategic ideation and innovation
- Provide support to local functional teams on key ad hoc initiatives to address opportunities and risks.
- Understand the direct competitive environment (TV, SVOD, Theatrical, Subscription Services), and apply analysis and insights to gain a competitive advantage.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Marketing strategy experience at a manager level or equivalent
- Experience marketing content within the Entertainment industry (preferably SVOD)
- Experience developing C-suite presentations and strategic recommendations
- UK experience including understanding cultural nuances
- Experience motivating and inspiring internal teams and agencies while collaborating across functions and delivering through senior, junior, and peer stakeholders.
- Ability to process data and build a strategic recommendation using results
- Outstanding presentation and interpersonal skills
- An inquisitive attitude to be consumer-centric
