Position Summary

FaceSwap is a new, exciting, and growing field within the visual effects industry, using Machine Learning (AI) to create digital faces and likenesses. We are currently looking for people with a keen eye for, and curiosity about, photo realism, as well as those comfortable with the technical side of visual effects. The FaceSwap Supervisor will be a pioneer and trailblazer in a new area of visual effects technology. While a background in compositing is helpful, artists with visual effects experience in any field are encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Do:

  • Implement and lead all aspects of a variety of deep learning based technologies to produce photorealistic images, including open source tools, and proprietary in house software

  • Collaborate with VFX supervisors, Head of department, to help develop the creative and technical approach for FaceSwap workflows on a variety of projects.

  • Collaborate with global CGTS/FaceSwap group to help prioritize technical/workflow related tasks

  • Assist bidding team and producers with evaluating and bidding potential FaceSwap work on future projects

  • Guides FaceSwap work and ensures the technical quality meets expectations, as well as making aesthetic decisions for these groups, including reviewing work from artists and leads

  • Supervise the training progress, and assess improvements and quality; making vital adjustments to the configuration of training

  • Stay up to date on all the latest technology, and be able to implement the latest research with RnD support

  • Drive the department innovation and design new workflows for new ML implementations. 

  • Supervisors should drive creative and tech direction of the team for the whole show/multiple show

  • Create templates to facilitate model evaluation, that can be handed over to artists if needed

  • Helps Troubleshoots technical issues, maintain tickets and test tool development.

  • Delegating and scheduling tasks to FaceSwap artists along with Production. 

  • Ability to prioritize task load, and manage your time well on multiple projects with tight schedules.

  • Help mentor emerging talent, share techniques, demonstrate skills and build tutorials if needed.

  • Building and maintaining documentation of your processes to help with dissemination of knowledge across sites.

  • Support the development of up to date training material and take part in training sessions to expand FaceSwap knowledge in the team

What We’re Looking For:

  • Extensive experience in visual effects or CG industry

  • Experience using or training deep neural networks models, such as Nuke Copycat, DeepFaceLab or other face swapping tools.

  • Experience working on projects with realistic looking CGI humans or other face replacement approaches

  • A curious mind that is interested in learning new things, and enjoys experimentation and testing

  • Flexible and adaptable to changing workflows, detail oriented and meticulous

  • Expert knowledge of Nuke to prepare precomps and slap comps

  • Python scripting skills to automate and streamline repeated day-to-day tasks

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Can collaborate with artists from other teams

  • Comfortable working with or learning command-line driven tools 

  • Interested in, or have basic familiarity with, deep neural networks

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Keen Tools/ ComfyUI

  • Experience leading a project and supervising a team

This role is Hybrid, which means the employee will be required to work 2 days on-site per week at a Company designated location, and occasionally from home.
