About the Role & Team
In line with the New Business strategy, identify, pitch and secure new business opportunities across key subcategories and franchises to improve the overall category growth in a meaningful manner.
The team works closely with the regional creative teams, product approvers, retail, brand commercialisation, and marketing teams to put in place strategic go-to-market plans and to support the sale of the product as required by licensee/retailer.
The relationships we build in and out of Disney are key to the success of this role, both internally and externally; this ability to build positive relationships with key business units and X-franchise teams (both within EMEA & globally) which can result in new business and/or cross-promotional opportunities.
This role is a Fixed-term contract with a proposed end date in October, and will require you to be onsite 4 days a week.
What You Will Do
- In conjunction with Senior Licensing Sales Manager, implement the long-term strategy for specific department in collaboration with relevant collaborators utilising key trends, commercial and consumer insight, develop and drive succinct strategies
- Identify new opportunities to drive incremental growth across a range of subcategories
- Handle the annual operating plan and quarterly forecasting process, developing supplier (licensee) objectives and strategies, working with markets, consumer demo groups, category teams, brand commercialisation, marketing, product development and finance to drive growth
- Actively lead and cultivate the relationship engagement, partnership and joint business planning with each EMEA account
- Complete contract negotiations for certain accounts and appropriately advise all key partners (global, EMEA and local)
- Work closely with the creative teams on product development and the marketing teams to support licensee marketing & support Disney marketing campaigns
- Collaborate and develop positive relationships with Disney market teams, both category and retail providing key licensee & product information and regular strategy and franchise updates. Understand and satisfy local market needs and differences. Utilise these relationships to share best practise
- Build links with the international DCP teams to share knowledge and standard methodologies
- Negotiate regional contracts & support global discussions where required to deliver growth across key sub-areas. Communicate our sustainability goals and the International Labour Standards (ILS) process, acting as the bridge between the licensee and The Walt Disney Company CSR/ILS teams.
- Communicate requirements for key compliance terms within license agreement, including but not limited to Sustainability and ILS
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Financial foresight – owning the ability to translate numbers into a working plan
- Ability to analyse data, construct practical conclusions and implement recommendations to achieve business targets
- An ability to be agile in order to capitalise on the moment and identify new opportunities and target partners
- Resilient and forward-thinking in a constantly evolving landscape
- Computer literate including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Keynote
- A proactive eye for digital, social and brick and mortar marketing
- Excellent commercial and strategic approaches to problem solving and innovation
- Outstanding planning and organisation skills
- Strong influencing skills to achieve consensus at all levels
- Forward thinking with the ability to take industry trends and translate them into something that drives growth for The Walt Disney Company
- Cultural sensitivity and an understanding of local markets across EMEA
- Manager level experience in a commercial function
- Degree level education in a related field or equivalent work experience
- Experience within consumer products business
- Shown experience of building effective relationships, leading and handling change and collaboration across departments to achieve financial targets and joint goals
- Tried experience of developing the performance of a team
