About the Role & Team

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our EMEA Controllership team on a fixed term contract until October 2027!

Reporting into our Media Manager, the successful Senior Accountant will assist with the close accounting processes & deliverables for the Media segment. They will also be responsible for reviewing and assisting the extended media team with day-to-day work as well as projects & driving efficiencies. 

Please note: This role will be based in our London Hammersmith office, 4 days a week, with either Monday or Friday working from home.

What You Will Do

Main tasks will include the following: 

  • Working closely with local, EMEA, US, Mumbai teams on an ongoing basis as the key accounting contact as well as reviewing general work & supporting team members in the extended Mumbai team. 

  • Responsible for overviewing the general accounting processes, i.e. revenue accruals, deferred income, pre-payments for Media segment. 

  • Withholding tax overview for TWDC UK, monitoring & assisting our Mumbai team in resolving aged & incorrectly withheld balances with key stakeholders such as Tax, Collections & Finance.  

  • Ensuring compliance with programming accounting policies for EMEA internally developed content, third-party acquisitions, pre-buys (original acquisitions), co-productions, US content, Studio content, contributions, interstitials, development & pilot & content produced for third parties. 

  • Ensuring quarterly close activities are completed in an accurate and timely manner by facilitation of fast issue resolution & assistance to wider team members.  

  • Ensuring overall initial review of reporting packages & financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheet flux schedules and impairments, are completed on a timely basis & all issues & variances are followed up where required. 

  • Liaising with external Auditors on a quarterly basis, including attending the audit calls.   

  • Undertaking various projects to drive efficiencies within the team & cross-company. 

  • Identify & drive areas of improvement within current processes with the aim of maintaining the current high standard of service provided in a more efficient manner. 

  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley & Disney Minimum Control Standards e.g. journal log. 

  • Supporting management & wider finance team on any ad-hoc duties 

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • A Qualified Senior Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with a minimum of 3 years’ post qualified experience  

  • A background & knowledge of film & TV programming accounting preferred.   

  • Advanced excel skills and SAP experience  

  • European language skills are highly coveted 

  • Strong attention to detail. 

  • Ability to analyse information critically & ask questions. 

  • Adaptability & ability to manage tight deadlines. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships across all levels of the organization.
