This is a fixed-term contract position for 12 months, located at our London office in Hammersmith, requiring four days of on-site attendance per week.
What we’re looking for
- Write engaging, authentic, and on-brand product and marketing copy for the UK Disney Store website, social platforms, in-store assets, and email blasts, using a British English tone and spelling. Ensure copy aligns with Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Lucasfilm, Nat Geo, and Fox characters and films, highlighting features and benefits to create a unique Disney difference in the marketplace.
- Develop compelling headlines, sub-headlines, and calls to action for homepages, landing pages, special features, and promotions, and provide copy for organic and paid social campaigns across Pinterest, Facebook, X, and Instagram. Write copy in a storytelling style, using ownable language that resonates with the target audience.
- Apply brand voice and global creative direction guidelines across all Disney Store platforms, ensuring consistency, authenticity, and adherence to SEO and mobile-first best practices. Edit and proofread copy to ensure grammatical accuracy and that all messaging speaks clearly to the intended audience.
- Manage translation processes and maintain the Disney Store EMEA Translation Library, partnering with translation agencies and using the library to leverage often-used phrases for marketing and asset copy. Provide support and advice for translation needs as required.
- Collaborate closely with the line manager, Merchandisers, Graphic Designers, Creative Operations Manager, Copy Manager, Buying team, and other cross-functional partners to craft cohesive messaging, communicate accurate product information in a compelling way, and execute assigned campaigns.
- Work with global Creative Operations and copy teams, as well as North America counterparts, to minimise duplication of effort and identify business opportunities to evolve the brand.
- Adhere to timelines for all projects and initiatives, conducting regular market research to stay inspired and informed.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of creative development and website production processes, with strong familiarity with Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and Nat Geo characters, stories, Park attractions, and the wider Disney brand and history.
- Excellent writing and editing abilities, with a focus on delivering an exceptional guest experience. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to receive and act on feedback for continuous improvement.
- Proven team player and effective business partner, able to work closely with cross-functional teams and maintain a professional, positive attitude.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a heavy workload, prioritise multiple projects, and perform well under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office productivity software. Knowledge of HTML and Jira is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of French, German, Spanish, or Italian is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (advertising, writing, media communications).
