The Identity Alliance at Disney manages user identities and access across our digital platforms, including Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, ABC News, and more. We design and build the software and infrastructure that powers secure, scalable, and seamless authentication and authorization for millions of users every day.

The Identity Platform Services Fleet is responsible for the platforms and CI/CD pipelines that enable engineers across Disney to build and deploy secure, scalable, and reliable identity services. We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team and help empower hundreds of engineers to deliver high-quality identity services to millions of users worldwide.
 

What You Will Do
 

As a Senior DevOps Engineer on the Identity Platform Services team, you will:

  • Design and manage scalable, high-performance cloud infrastructure for millions of users

  • Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software

  • Streamline the deployment process to reduce friction and empower developers to self-serve

  • Enhance platform visibility and monitoring to ensure system reliability

  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management

  • Address architectural and operational challenges with innovative solutions

  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce the Cost Per Subscriber (CPS)

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments

  • Advocate for DevOps culture and best practices across the organization

  • Foster better collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team

  • Mentor and guide junior team members


Required Qualifications & Skills
 

You must have experience with the following;

  • Proficiency in Go and Python programming languages

  • Extensive experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code (IaC) principles

  • Strong knowledge of AWS services, including ECS, Kinesis, DynamoDB, and Lambda

  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins and Spinnaker

  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch and Datadog

  • Strong understanding of security best practices in cloud environments


Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the required qualifications, the following skills and experiences are highly desirable:

  • Experience with event-driven architecture and design patterns

  • Knowledge of the Kubernetes ecosystem, specifically AWS EKS

  • Proficiency with OpenTelemetry for observability

  • Previous experience mentoring and guiding junior team members
