Job Summary:

As an integral part of the Sourcing and Procurement (S&P) Marketing Category team, the Senior Sourcing Specialist position plays a vital role in supporting The Walt Disney Company's strategic management and delivery of overall “Value” within the EMEA region. This involves overseeing the company's third-party expenditures in the designated category or categories, as required, and ensuring effective management of demands and services as needed.

Sourcing and Procurement offer commercial “Value”, Support and Insights to various stakeholders across different business units within the company. This is particularly crucial in this specific category, as it constitutes a substantial portion of our overall third-party expenditures.

The term "Value" or "Total Value Contribution" encompasses financial aspects, risk management, and measures aimed at preserving the Company's reputation. These measures include compliance with company standards and policies, adherence to the company's code of conduct, protection of intellectual property (IP), safeguarding personal data, and more.

Area of Responsibility

  • Supports the Sr. Manager in developing long term category strategy, analyses and strategic category plans for EMEA (Category Strat plans, 5YP and AOP)
  • Develops the AOP analyses and preparation for the assigned areas of spend, providing sourcing opportunities insights and reports
  • Update KPI’s and follow up with actions by communicating progress effectively regularly.
  • Manage regional multi-functional projects within a regional or global team matrix to leverage spend across business units.
  • Developed and lead sourcing strategies for several marketing categories or any other assigned whilst interacting with relevant Business Partners and stakeholders.
  • Actively work with cross-functional teams to collaborate and brainstorm cost-reduction solutions.
  • Performs external market research and supplier pre-qualification activities.
  • Manage the collection of briefs across all business units.
  • Deliver multiple small and large projects with high values and risk.
  • Apply an appropriate Sourcing and Procurement methodology, create, execute, and track multiple project work plans, Sourcing strategies, baseline definition, cost modelling and adjust as appropriate to remain aligned with goals and targeted benefits.
  • Identify category challenges and brings ideas on opportunities to leverage spend, scope and processes efficiencies.
  • Proactively engages territory peers and leads to ensure territory requirements are met,  local knowledge and relationships are leveraged, and Category Strategy is applied consistently throughout the region where it exists
  • Perform supplier selection activities in partnership with appropriate Business Unit and other procurement constituents.
  • Provide rigorous cost and market analysis following the models established by Strategic Sourcing focusing on the total value of ownership.
  • Delivers to his individual cost savings targets and the teams targets.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of market trends and conditions in the space and understand how these affect suppliers, cost of goods/services, pricing, and the resulting impact to clients.
  • Use market knowledge and data analysis to identify savings opportunities and contribute to a future pipeline of opportunities that meet category specific targets.
  • Utilize commodity specialists within the Business Units and elsewhere within sourcing for market knowledge and product expertise.
  • Interact with and influence stakeholders across the business and territories.
  • Ensure compliance with sourcing policies, processes, company standards and best practices.
  • Ensures highest professional an ethical standard, and positively impacts the S&P reputation in the territory. Is ambassador for the values, vision, and mission of S&P.

Accountability

  • The Senior Sourcing Specialist will report to the Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing EMEA.
  • This role entails responsibility for all sourcing activities, processes, plans, due diligences, negotiations, etc, related to the specified assigned commodity and any additional commodity groups or territories as needed.

Skills and Experience

  • Extensive background in a comparable role within blue-chip companies operating in industries such as FMCG, Media, Entertainment, Pharmaceutical, or similar sectors is essential.
  • Experience with regional or global responsibilities in large multinational corporations.
  • Experience in one or more of the core categories of Marketing or Professional Services spend
  • Expert in developing and implementing sourcing strategies, project plans, and leading supplier large negotiations and use RFx.
  • Ability to identify/solicit key stakeholder needs and develop solutions, manage a pitch to address their needs.
  • Ability to effectively communicate strategic value of sourcing to key stakeholders across multiple Bus regionally or globally.
  • Excellent facilitation and project management skills and the ability to manage a range of sometimes competing stakeholder interests and expectations.
  • Ability to analyse and model complex data and use this to develop sourcing opportunities.
  • Ability to apply market knowledge to sourcing projects to create extra value for stakeholders  
  • Strong and solid knowledge of procurement practices, systems and sourcing/supply chain trends and dynamics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional Suite, specially excel.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferrable in finance, economics, or supply chain
  • Good understanding of Finance.
  • Good understanding of legal aspects related to procurement contracts.
  • Professional certification – ideally completed or in process of studying for CIPS or equivalent.
