The Casting Department manages the casting responsibilities associated with major film projects of TWDS. The department serves as the liaison between the Studio, production executives, and talent throughout production before, during, and after principal shooting. Searchlight is looking for a qualified, enthusiastic, and positive individual to join the team!
Responsibilities:
Works with primary and location casting team to make sure they submit all necessary casting documentation
Support Casting Manager with legal and casting admin for hiring of casting directors internationally
Support Casting Manager to double checks, confirms, and submits casting director credits to Credit and Title Administration
Facilitate the internal casting process with scheduling sessions, self-tape appointments, running camera, troubleshooting equipment, and uploading of tapes
Creates session and status lists for internal casting
Checks actor availabilities
Coordinating the process of creating project lists and master lists
Reading and breaking down scripts
Roll calls & answer phones as needed
Schedule internal & external meetings as needed
Maintaining calendar as needed
Preparing and submitting expense reports as needed
Liaising with other Disney executives, producers, Casting Executives, and other assistants internally and externally
Supporting departmental projects as needed
Maintaining organizational documents and monitoring status of deliverables
Assisting in the preparation of meetings
Maintaining files
Coordinating domestic and international travel as needed
Representing the department in a professional manner
Required Qualifications
1+ years experience as a Casting Assistant or with a Casting Company or Studio In-House team and interest in a career in casting
Strong relationships and network within the Casting community for TV or films
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Strong skills and proficiency with Mac, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, iMovie, Cast It, Qwire, Fast Capture, QuickTime, Zoom, Slack, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint
Knowledge of SAG rules and protocols is a plus
Demonstrated organizational skills
Superior attention to detail
Ability to successfully coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong computer literacy and proficiency with SAP. Working knowledge of Adobe, Illustrator, Keynote preferred
Demonstrated ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, make decisions, and change course of action quickly
Detail oriented with the ability to work well and maintain professionalism under pressure
Exceptional organizational and follow-through skills
Effective communicator, both verbally and written
Ability to work with confidential information
Positive attitude and the ability to be proactive, resourceful, and flexible
Strong people skills, including the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Ability to take initiative and work with limited direction
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $51,300.00-$66,300.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
