Job Summary:

At FX, we are seeking a Creative Director of Motion Design to manage the overall creative process from concept through completion for FX Brand and Original Series projects. As the Creative Director, you will partner with the VP on the creation of design-based creative briefs, vendor selections, concept creation, pitches and presentations, reviews and critiques, and delivery and quality control of all project assets during and beyond the life of a project or show. This position is responsible for nurturing collaboration, inspiring the best creative process, driving creative innovation, and maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee entire show campaigns, brand packaging and all other design, marketing and promotional projects
  • Create concepts, establish the direction of design and animation and quality control
  • Manage projects, providing clear and consistent goals and objectives and ensuring creative and design consistency across each project
  • Collaborate with the Design Production team on scheduling and planning to ensure the team stays on schedule and maintains the best quality output
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in art, design, animation and competitive landscape
  • Participate in discovery and implementation of new technologies and creative styles

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years’ experience in design or related field with 3 years’ experience in a management role
  • Must have art and/or creative direction experience
  • Must have experience in title or motion design in entertainment or commercial advertising
  • Proficient in Mac, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Advanced skills in design and animation software/technologies preferred
  • Experience in film/video production and/or visual effects strongly preferred
  • 3D animation skill set preferred
  • Experience in Maya and Cinema 4D strongly preferred
  • Must have the ability to effectively communication, direct, and lead in-house design teams, editors and outside vendors
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to effectively pitch design concepts
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving and project management skills
  • Must be able to multitask and work effectively under daily time constraints in a high pressure environment

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Art, Film or Television or equivalent work experience


The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is $148,700.00 to $199,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
