Job Summary:

National Geographic is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Non-Linear Scheduler to support the planning and execution of our non-linear programming strategy across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).


In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining monthly programming plans, coordinating content availability, managing metadata and VOD workflows, and ensuring content launches are delivered accurately and on time across multiple markets. You will work closely with Programming, Operations, Client Services and local market teams to bring National Geographic content to streaming and on-demand audiences.

This fixed-term opportunity is available through to the end of the year and is based in Madrid, operating on a hybrid model with four days per week in the office.


What You Will Do

  • Develop and maintain monthly non-linear programming schedules in line with programming strategy and audience objectives.
  • Build and manage programming plans within scheduling systems, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Curate content selections, collections and thematic programming initiatives to maximise audience engagement.
  • Identify and programme suitable catalogue and library content, ensuring rights and licensing windows are respected.
  • Coordinate content availability, metadata, localisation and delivery timelines across multiple territories.
  • Manage VOD ordering processes and support monthly content launches.
  • Validate metadata and ensure content information is accurate and compliant with operational requirements.
  • Partner with local markets, Operations and Client Services teams to ensure successful implementation of programming plans.
  • Contribute to programming discussions, content reviews and planning activities.
  • Support accessibility initiatives and simultaneous multi-market launches.


What We Are Looking For

  • A first experience in TV Programming, Programming Planning, Content Scheduling or a similar media environment.
  • Strong understanding of content planning, scheduling, rights management and metadata workflows.
  • Experience working with VOD, streaming platforms or non-linear content services.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset with excellent organisational skills.
  • Passion for television, factual content and audience engagement.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Media, Communications or a related discipline.
  • Experience using scheduling or programming systems such as What's On (WON).
  • Understanding of localisation workflows, content delivery and operational processes.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience working with factual, documentary or National Geographic-style content is desirable.
  • Fluent English and Spanish.
