Wherever you are in the amazing world of Disney, you are contributing to the stories of our iconic brands, recognized by audiences everywhere for entertainment, information and inspiration. Innovation, imagination and inclusion are at the core of Disney, defining the experience that we deliver as well as providing the foundation of our success. The scope of our business, combined with global growth and collaboration, results in an inclusive employee experience characterized by continuous learning, development and achievement.

Disney+ is one of the world's leading streaming services, bringing together the stories and franchises that define global entertainment. In APAC, we are building the infrastructure to understand our subscribers more deeply and use that understanding to grow.

This role sits at the center of how Disney+ understands and grows its subscriber base across APAC, connecting customer insight to product, pricing, and commercial strategy across one of the world's most diverse consumer markets. Across APAC, subscribers engage with Disney+ through vastly different cultural contexts, price sensitivities, and device behaviors. This role exists to make sure those differences are understood, represented, and acted on.

The function works in close partnership with Analytics (first-party behavioral data), with a specific focus on the drivers of conversion, monetization, and lifecycle experience. Through quantitative-led research, supported by qualitative depth where needed, it brings the voice of the APAC subscriber into product and commercial strategy at the highest levels.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Establish the function's research capability, hiring and developing quantitative and mixed-methods researchers as the team grows
  • Set research standards, methods, and a vendor ecosystem that can scale across diverse APAC markets
  • Establish the function's credibility as a genuine strategic partner to Product, Pricing, and Commercial leadership

  • Deliver research and third-party insights that inform decisions across Product, Pricing, Partnerships, Payments, and Retention
  • Translate customer and market understanding into clear priorities for where research investment will have the greatest commercial impact
  • Shape how APAC leadership understands subscribers, turning research into strategic point of view that drives decisions

Design and Execute Quantitative-Led Research

  • Lead pricing and willingness-to-pay studies, conjoint analysis, segmentation, and driver modeling
  • Conduct lifecycle and journey research across acquisition, onboarding, payments, and cancellation
  • Run concept and proposition testing for plans, bundles, promotions, and features specific to APAC markets
  • Integrate qualitative research where needed to deepen understanding of behaviors and motivations that data alone cannot fully explain

Inform Experimentation and Decision-Making

  • Shape hypotheses and customer framing for product and commerce experiments
  • Interpret test results through customer insight and value perception lenses
  • Provide evidence-based recommendations with clear implications and tradeoffs

Partner Across Analytics, Product, and Commercial Teams

  • Combine third-party and primary research with first-party behavioral data to build a fuller picture of subscriber behavior
  • Align on lifecycle definitions and measurement frameworks that work across functions
  • Support pricing, packaging, and partner strategy discussions with customer evidence that holds up under scrutiny
  • Ensure APAC market nuance around bundling norms, payment method preferences, and franchise engagement informs decisions at the regional and global level

EXPERIENCE AND PROFILE

Required

  • 15+ years in consumer, product, growth, or commercial insights and research, with a track record of influencing strategy at senior levels
  • Deep quantitative research expertise in pricing studies, conjoint, segmentation, and driver modeling, with complementary qualitative capability
  • Demonstrated experience in subscription, streaming, telco, ecommerce, or digital services, where monetization and lifecycle dynamics are central
  • Proven leadership building and scaling insights or research teams in complex organizational environments
  • Strong executive storytelling and stakeholder influence, with the ability to shape how leaders think, not just inform them
  • Multi-market APAC experience, with genuine fluency in the regional diversity that makes this market distinctive

Strong Differentiators

  • Experience in streaming or entertainment, with an understanding of how content, brand, and commercial factors interact in subscriber decision-making
  • Familiarity with experimentation frameworks and causal thinking, and the ability to complement analytical teams without duplicating them
  • Experience integrating third-party and first-party data sources into a coherent view of customer behavior

The best person for this role combines analytical rigor with the curiosity to understand what makes APAC subscribers tick, and the presence to bring that understanding into rooms where strategy gets made. If that sounds like you, we would like to talk.
