Job Summary:
As a Head of Merchandise Planning / Allocation and Supply Management, Partner with Director (currently Executive Director), Direct-to-Consumer Retail (DTC Retail) and Merchandise Strategy & Development team to lead DTCR Merchandising planning team to achieve the financial targets.
Responsibilities:
Merchandise Planning & Allocation
- Manage and lead all aspects of merchandising planning team to maximize DTCR sales opportunities and profitability.
- Implement purchasing plan and inventory strategies.
- Lead supply management process, including manage partners / vendors and cost negotiation.
- Effectively plan and execute merchandising planning and allocation strategies.
- Conduct analyses using sales, inventory, and customer data to identify market trends, and synthesize actionable insights.
- Lead cross-LOB/cross-company initiatives to maximize new business opportunities.
P&L Responsibility
- Achieve revenue and sales objectives while driving long-term strategic plan.
- Deliver weekly/monthly/quarterly financial business reviews to upper management.
Organization Management
- Develop strong, capable and efficient organization to archive the business objectives.
- Motivate team through establishment of clear and challenging strategies and tactics
- Set annual objectives for all direct reports and assess their performance, recommend for performance improvement
Requirement:
- Deep knowledge and insight of retail industry in Japan
- More than 10 year’s experience in team management
- Demonstrated strong leadership, passion and energy to lead the organization.
- Excellent business acumen combined with excellent judgment and the ability to identify optimal solutions with a creative and innovative approach.
- Capable and flexible with the prioritization skills to handle multiple projects and act on high priority issues.
- Experience in product planning for Japan market and global / APAC and plan Merchandise assortment in multiple categories.
- Networking with supplier and effective negotiation skills
- Proven background in strategic planning and financial analysis/modeling.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Deliverable-focused, strong work ethic.
- Fluent English and Japanese in both written and verbal.
