Be Part of the Story as the Manager, Retail Brand Commercialization, Sales. You’ll develop robust plans for the Shop-in-shop (SIS) in partnership with the retailer, internal teams and licensees as well as manage the day-to-day execution of wholesale SIS process across all categories within the space.  You’ll also have direct oversight of other licensed categories for the full chain beyond the shop and will be responsible to meet financial targets across the entire portfolio for SIS and licensed businesses.

The position will report into the Sr. Manager of Retail Brand Commercialization – Sales.

This is a Full Time position.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop best-in-class relationships with retailer (buyers, planners, and other functions across multiple departments) in order to partner to drive Disney business and achieve financial growth targets across the portfolio. 

  • Build relationships to partner with internal teams and with licensees for the expanded categories to understand and help develop strategies for each category and plans by department to expand placement and create brand stories.

  • Perform weekly analysis of account business, assess opportunities and risks, and provide recommendations/gap analysis to drive future opportunities.

  • Develop and execute departmental strategies.  Actively work to apply financial and consumer insights, and product trend information, as well as support the divisional strategies.

  • Create sales & performance recaps to communicate successes and opportunities to internal teams. 

Own the Shop-in-shop business throughout each phase: driving strategies and building franchise and themed programming, day-to-day management of the business to include the following: 

  • Build product assortment and franchise strategies (in partnership with the retailer, Disney Creative, Product Development, Licensing, Analytics and Insights teams). 

  • Combine product sales analytics with retail and consumer trends to align to our overall franchise goals.

  • Develop best-in-class relationship with SIS lead and Buying teams at retailer – become the point person for all day-to-day contact.

  • Analyze sales rates to provide recommendations for assortment optimization.

  • Present quarterly departmental strategies and hindsight business reviews to cross-functional teams.

  • Develop timing and action calendar by season to execute key milestones, own meetings both internally and with retailer to drive the process start to finish to support operational timelines and hold cross functional teams accountable to these milestones.

  • Help trouble-shoot POL issues/hurdles.

  • Liaise with Retail Marketing & Retail Analytics

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • 4+ years buying/merchandising/assortment planning experience in mid to large size company (or related experience)

  • Experience in building and maintaining multi-dimensional working relationships with retailer

  • High level of interest and experience with Disney Brand

  • Excellent follow-through skills and ability to multi-task

  • Experience working collaboratively across diverse teams; experience setting and maintaining financial targets

  • Experience analyzing consumer product sales

  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Experience working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to flex from strategic to task oriented skills

  • Skilled in Excel, Outlook, Power Point or Keynote

  • Strong organizational skills

  • People oriented team player

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience working on Target business preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

The hiring range for this remote position is $97,100 to $130,200 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
